just remember folks it you have non-led tail Lites like on the lower trim models the wiring kit will no work without modifications, look up budget bronco here on your tube with the videos on how to wire it up on the lower trims.

Thanks for this video. Made it seem pretty easy. I have a 2022 Wildtrak and I used the teknosha 118867 wiring harness. I have break lights and running lights but no blinkers (either side). Blinkers are still working on the bronco though. Any ideas where I messed up? Thanks!

Possible the converter is bad in the harness. Call the dealer you bought it from and ask for some tech support.

I've got a 2023 Bronco Badlands. I noticed that the Tekonsha wiring harness (TK46FR) is not confirmed for the 2023 Bronco on their webpage. It sure looks like it would the same. Any quick thoughts on which Tekonsha wiring harness would be best for the 2023 Bronco Badlands (118867)? BTW - great video!
@alpinegarage8548 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Ray. Not sure how the 2023 has changed for wiring. Call Teconsha or the dealer and ask.

Not sure if you're monitoring your older videos or not, but if so, is it possible to connect the power to the pre-wired right rear quarter panel auxiliary connection, which would then be connected to one of the other pre-wired connections in the glovebox and finally to one of the auxiliary upfitter switch wires? Then it can just be turned on and off. Versus having to run the power wire up under the entire length of the frame to the engine compartment? I assume the amperage would need to be sufficient, but assuming it is, it seems this may be a better option for those with the aux upfitter switches pre-installed.

I see your bumper cover is different than 2022 model. I tried to install one this week and customer freaked out when I told him cover had to be cut to fit receiver, and he declined install. GOOD . I didn't want to install anyway . It was a curt class 3 hitch . Needed to drop exhaust also . Dodged that bullet. 💯

Any reason to run a power wire to the battery as opposed to using the pre-run wire from the overhead Aux switches?
@alpinegarage85482 жыл бұрын
That’s what we plan on trying. Two of the switches are 30 amp. That may be enough.

@alpinegarage8548 Жыл бұрын
Are you running electric brakes?
@JamesMarsolek-cq3oq Жыл бұрын
Boat trailer does not need brake controller but I believe there is a solenoid that needs to be energized when put in reverse so brakes release when backing. I assume I must tap into reverse lights somewhere?
@alpinegarage8548 Жыл бұрын
@@JamesMarsolek-cq3oq if you have electric brakes on the trailer then yes. Otherwise it is likely a piston on the surge brake that is controlled manually with a pin. I agree that if it has an electric solenoid that the brake light would have to be tapped on one line.

So where do I get the harness from
@johnharris70052 жыл бұрын
Excellent Videos! Thanks for putting so much time into these. Quick question: I've read numerous places that the bolts provided with the Cur #13493 are 4.5" long and are too long to fit on certain Broncos. I have a 4 door Outer Banks with the Sasquatch package, which includes rear bumper backup sensors. I climbed under the truck today, and there is no way 4.5" bolts are going to fit, even with the additional of the thickness of the hitch and the washer. 4" bolts will even be tight (there are bundles of wires clipped into the bumper cover in the exact spot the two of the bolts come through the hitch). Did you have any issues with the length of the bolts? I'm reading conflicting answers -- some people say they didn't have any issues, and others say they had to add washers/spacers, cut the bolts, or go out and buy new, shorter bolts. Adding washer seems simple enough, but I don't know if that would have any effect on the long term strength of the hitch. And I could probably find shorter bolts, but don't know if they need to be a certain strength, and/or made from a certain materi. Any comments/advice would be appreciated. Keep up the great work!!
@alpinegarage85482 жыл бұрын
We did not have any issues with length. If the bolts came too big, I would have cut them to fit.

So what is the choice for running the power line on the frame as opposed to running it in the cab? Is it more of a convenience thing?

I like grounding to steel. A lot of the body is aluminum and not as good a ground.

I've heard the curt harness doesn't work with halogens unless you cut a red wire and run it to ground, is this the same with the Tekonsha?
@alpinegarage85482 жыл бұрын
Good question. I haven’t tried it with halogen, but I’ll see if a buddy has a trailer and try it. Let you know.

Would you recommend getting the Trailer Tow Package if it is available?
@alpinegarage85482 жыл бұрын
Yes. Even if your not towing, it can be handy with bike racks, and receiver platforms for carrying additional gear.
@Co1eTrain842 жыл бұрын
i would too except its a constraint and Ford is delaying orders with them and it's a $600 option vs $240 for the hitch and harness

@@Co1eTrain84 yes don’t let that delay your delivery. If it’s pushing you back, just buy aftermarket like I did.

Please, for the love of all things delete the tow package if you don’t need a seven pin trailer connector. If you need a bike rack or ask “what’s a seven pin connector?” its likely you just need the hitch. I need trailer brakes, so I’m kinda locked in.

@Logan0o2 жыл бұрын
Surely better hitches and mounting placement would increase the towing too? I mean just look at the raptor That’s one reason they got more towing is because they moved the muffler and changed up the tow reviver Besides to get more trq that would require CAI and tune and id rather not have to tune my brand new warranty truck
@alpinegarage85482 жыл бұрын
@@Logan0o yes likely. The brunt of towing capacity comes from drivetrain, suspension, and weight of vehicle.
