@TDRrevenge the yellow/black car is a Opel Commodore "Steinmetz". The owner of this car is Dr. Oliver Steinmetz, the son of Klaus Steinmetz. This car is afaik a replica.

This is almost certainly the car held by Cologne in the Ford museum. It is maintained to a very high standard, and is released onto the circuits on very special occasions only.

@tpvalley - I'll take motorsportvideo's word for it about the Opel Commodore, but you do know that a lot of Mk 1 Escorts were built with rectangular lights, don't you? (especially the ones assembled in Australia).

The Capri is carrying a passenger in all of this footage. This means a 70kg weight penalty which will have upset the balance and performance. Search out the Mucke racing RS3100 footage to see the real speed these cars had....

This car is now racing in Portugal ( classic car championship +1600) and the owner is António Nogueira. I saw the debut racing in circuito da Boavista, the past June. Amazing car but RHD..so is dificult for the pilot...

@motorsportvideo A well-driven Steinmetz Commodore was a fearsome competitor in its day but I suspect the Ford Team had more money for better drivers, the Capris were nigh-unbeatable !
