Thank you Derreck for the excellent video..one question. my A/C does not cool well and I see that one of my two fans on my f150 is not running..is that the reason for the a/c not to cool well? it has refrigerant, compressor is good as well. the car is not overheating even though only one fan works not both. thanks in advnace for your reply.

That's a blown fuse or relay easy to replace

Low speed fan is coming on but when in traffic downtown, the high speed fan is not coming on. I just replaced the relay and also replaced the resistor what could be causing this problem it is a Ford transit connect 2012. Thank you.

I don't believe I have that expensive specialized computerized gizmo you got there. I understand many videos are here to teach aspiring mechanics who work in actual shops with a full set of tools. I'm a car owner in a rented parking space trying to figure out why my car is running too hot since the weather got hot a week ago. I was hoping it was only a stuck thermostat and also know if it were water pump, I understand I'd have some coolant coming out it's weep hole indicating it's failed. I have a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria.

So the voltage on the contorl wire from the PCM is 12 Volts PDMed ? not 5 v ?

So key on and the fan module is powered up, the control circuit would be 0% duty till the engine coolant temp sensor tells the ECM to pulse width modulate the control circuit the appropriate amount to ground. Signal voltage is as supplied to the module 12 volts?

2005 police crown vic ---- BRO I NEED HELP! been having overheating issues & replaced everything in the system. NOT overheating anymore but the radiator fan goes to high after only 5 mins of running. stays on high fan until shut off. replaced the radiator, water pump, CT sensor, HT sensor, thermostat (160), fresh coolant after 3 flushes. used a laser temp tool & highest reading on cyl or anywhere, is only 160 degrees. fan will be on HIGH with that LOW temp. CANT FIGURE IT OUT & NEED TO SELL!.

So just to be clear both fans should run when ac is on? I have a 2010 Lincoln MKX and just the one fan runs when ac on the other nothing while ideling
@MasterChief-sl9ro4 жыл бұрын
Yes when the AC is commanded on. It should come on..Be careful. As Lincoln and Mercury fans have a resistor pack on the Passenger side. 5M6Z-8L603-AA... That pack can be bad and the fan good. You can bypass it too check the fan. As it's only a two wire resistor..

I have a 2009 Ford Fusion 2.3L (160k), and when it's above say 90-deg F outside, the A/C isn't cooling very well at all, especially at idle. The "all-in-one" radiator/condenser fan is spinning, but I'm wondering if it's not spinning fast enough. Is it possible that the control module is not increasing the fan speed like it's supposed to? Is that how these fans are supposed to work? Note: I have a set of gauges and the refrigerant charge appears to be correct.

My 2010 Fusion is having the same issue with the AC not blowing cold when at idle but it blows cold when driving at a higher speed. Were you able to resolve your issue? If so, what was the cause?
@n.shiina8798 Жыл бұрын
@@FindTheSeven check the radiator fan motor. the fan motor seems to be brushed type and the brushes are wear item. they might be worn out to the point of lacking good contact. it's still possible the module went bad but inspecting the fan motor would be easier

My 16 Explorer does the same thing, a/c blows weak on idle. Any solutions?
@mrau92me Жыл бұрын
@@hectorortega9131 The two most common reasons for this is the cooling fan is not running (usually due to a bad fan motor) or your system could be a little low on refrigerant.

I have a 2007 Town Car. Like everyone else "FAN PROBLEM"!!! I have replaced the temperature sensor and the module, direct power to the fan. It spins. Still nothing, not even when A/C is on. Got the module from Amazon for $17 but, in the parts store (AutoZone) they are more than $100. Hmmm....Fuses are good, module is "live" with a test light. I wonder whether the PCM is the problem. My 2009 MKX cooling fan runs at high speed when the car is cold. But only when the climate control system is on. When it is off the fan doesn't run. Would the temp sensor cause that issue it is it the cooling fan control module? The car is NOT overheating. No engine codes are set.

I believe it only comes on when needed. It comes on w/the A/C by design. In fact, you A/C won't work if you have a bad fan.

I have a 2007 ford edge , wanted your opinion if you don't mind 😀. The cooling fans come on with the AC. But won't come on to cool the engine. Thermostat and ect is new . Fuses and relays are good . I didn't want to buy a cooling fan module without being able to confirm it's failed. I don't have a scan tool to read live data. I've been taking the " throwing shit at it and hoping something sticks " I didn't want to financially commit myself to a module, without like I said confirming it's failed . In your opinion, does it sound like I have a failed cooling fan module?
@SnakePliscan6 жыл бұрын
Pretty safe to say its the module when the ac command makes the fan run proving the fan still works. AC command bypasses PWM which is the part of the fan module circuitry that has failed.
@alexphillips43255 жыл бұрын
Unless it’s overheating, they’ll generally not run the fan at all
