👍. I like your videos. I got a 2003 e350. You give plenty of good info and I can actually see see important things the way you use your camera... probably a phone. Keep making them vids.

After the repair in may take a couple of drive cycles for the repair to complete itself and build pressure in the resavor.

Not sure if this is the same, but my '03 just sat for 2 weeks while on vacation. Worked fine before, but when I got back, heat/AC just won't blend. Truck started right up, and I changed the blend/AC 15amp fuse, but nothing but defrost only heat, which is blowing very strong and hot from defrost only..(under any condition. Idle, load, etc).. So idk, lack of vacuum pressure doesn't "feel like" the issue & would seem something is likely just sticking bc it sat in cold N.E. weather for a couple weeks, but honestly wouldn't know, and don't wanna start cutting if not the problem.. Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You can check on the center of the top of the dash with the van running pop of cover and see if the actuator in there is working when you switch positions. Also, mice seem to like that spot. Sorry for delayed response I'm not getting notified for comments

Could you give any tips on finding the evaporator drain tube so I can clean it?

To reset the Inertia Switch, you don't have to remove cover, Finger can push down from over the top. Locate pushbutton while Installing side panel. May help in Future Do they not come with a reservoir?. Or difficult to get to and easier to add, than change out?, thanks
@lifeathand10623 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The reservoir is down under the ac components at the firewall. I find it easier to just disconnect and relocate with a new one.

Could this issue also affect heat loss. My actuator is fine. It changes from A/C to heat. The a/c works great but the heater just blows down by the feet but no heat
@lifeathand10628 ай бұрын
I would go with air in the coolant system bad thermostat or most likely a vacuum line that needs replaced which would keep it from changing from air to heat.

Same on a 1998 e350? V10?
@lifeathand1062 Жыл бұрын
Sorry somehow this got missed. Yes it would be the same
@127Lasher2 жыл бұрын
I'm probably just missing it, but after disconnecting the black from red at the front, is that black line now a dead line? Can't quite make out if you're cutting away the other end at an existing reservoir or is that black line going directly into the new reservoir. You mention "it goes up to your switches" but assuming that's the black vacuum from the front.. Thanks for any help or clarification, just making my list before tackling this.. I'll rewatch a few times .
@127Lasher2 жыл бұрын
So to clarify my question. The black line from front. Leave it be? Then disconnect a different black vac line that's running to the switches, and that different line then gets run into the new reservoir?
@lifeathand10622 жыл бұрын
Yes it is dead at that point it just runs to the old pressure container

Thanks for watching I hope this helps

Look at about 4:30 o. The video where I'm under the dash where I talk about pushing the old black line out after cutting it you will use the line that's original but your tapping into in under the dash

Our 03 E450 shuttle bus only puts A/C out thru the defroster. Can’t find any control that switches where the air comes out. Ours has the 7.3 diesel, so don’t know if this will help us or not.
@lifeathand10622 жыл бұрын
It should be the same also o. the top of the dash in the center there is a cut out with a cover over it pop the cover and with it running adjust the air controls and see if the actuator in the dash moves. it's all ran on vacuum
@notajp2 жыл бұрын
@@lifeathand1062 They must have a vacuum pump of some kind then. I know a turbocharged Diesel engine doesn’t have manifold vacuum.

There's a good chance that the vacumm resavor will fix it you can check the vaccum lines by taking them off one at a time and holding your finger on one end and blowing into it

Alright, real question. I’ve done many of these. I have a fleet of them of 2018. What do I do if I’ve done the bypass, I have vacuum and it still stays on defrost. I direct connect the black to blue line and I get vents. Plug it back in to the controller and I lose vents again and switches to defrost. Im so lost it’s not even funny

Could be the actuator in the top of the dash about cetera of the wingow
