Thanks for this video. I had to do this myself on a 2007 Mazda CX9. The heads up on all the bolts and connections on the backside were very helpful. Wish it was as easy a job as it appeared in your video. Took me about 5 hours total with lots of cussing, cramping and almost a divorce. What a bastard of a job! Would suggest you replace Spark plugs and the ignition coils while you are in there. You will never want to do this again so best to do this while you can.

Thanks for the vid guys. We have a 2007 Lincoln MKX for my wife, let me tell u, if it wasn't for you guys, I would have thrown a match down the gas tank long ago! I hate this car, but it's cheaper to repair it than having another car payment.

Do you guys know why your Bank #1 (rear) valve cover is darker than the front? Mine is exactly the same at 120,000 mi.

TORQUE 89 in/lbs, or 10 NM. sorry for the spoiler, I could not find it on your youtube page or by simple googling. Also, the spark plug seal is a PAIN, without the proper $188 tool that is. I was able to hammer it in with soap water and an 1-1/4" socket (deciding the others were not in bad enough shape to bother with.) Also went ahead and replaced the PCV valve while that part was opened up

I have a bracket holding down the rear valve cover holding up the AC line by the firewall. I can't remove it. I tried 8mm socket and it's too big. 7mm is too small. Gonna try standard long sockets.

Did y'all cut the black AC line bracket on rear? My Ford Flex has it in the middle on the side. It's stuck! Help!

@TheMr420blunts Жыл бұрын
I tried standard sockets as well, I believe the 5/16th fits the best but still won’t turn it. I’m going to put a dab of a jb weld on the socket and try tomorrow. I’ll replace that bolt or if the socket works I’ll leave it there forever lol

Are those aluminum valve covers? All the ones I have seen are polymer
@icyhotmike3 жыл бұрын
It appears Ford used whatever valve covers were laying around. My 13 Explorer Sport has these aluminum covers but most cars seem to have the black plastic covers

@summerpatterson92062 жыл бұрын
I actually just had this problem come up! Did you replace the valve cover gaskets?
@TheBalognaPony2 жыл бұрын
@Summer Patterson i did, somehow everything blew. It was gushing oil out of the back cylinder gasket as well after i changed both valve covers. No clue wtf happened after a simple spark plug & fuel injector swap. Scrapped the car
@letsgonow5641 Жыл бұрын
@@TheBalognaPony I replaced one fuel injector about 2 years back. Thankfully everything went ok. This car has been reliable but has transmission problems. I replaced the Trans with a used one and now that one is about to go out soon.

Really didn't need to take off the throttle body. Just disconnect the hoses and clip. Use an extention and a swivel to get to the bracket underneath. 🤷♂️

@@letsgonow5641 I did one last week. It's not as difficult as you think. Just make sure you disconnect harnesses and move them out the way. I'm actually a mobile mechanic though so I've been working on cars awhile.

@@partytimexxx8931 How long did it take you? My dad is in his 70s now also need a power steering hose to. Thanks hopefully it will go well. Its been leaking for a bit now.
@partytimexxx8931 Жыл бұрын
@@letsgonow5641 it only took me a couple hours. Obviously the hardest part is the back valve cover. It ends up being neglected the most and the gasket will harden and get stuck. Find your perfect pry spot and gently lift it. Sometimes a second flat screwdriver helps. Use the first to shim it and the second to work around it until it pops loose.
@letsgonow5641 Жыл бұрын
@@partytimexxx8931 The back one is actually the one that is leaking. We are going to try and tighten it up a bit see if that helps..
