I have a 2015 Escape. The car is off and I am sitting inside with the doors locked from the inside door lock button. I did not use the fob. In between the fuel and temperature gages, there is a flashing red "i" enclosed in a red square. What is this?

I'm not sure what you mean by Dodge Escape? Did you mean Ford? the "i" is for information it wants you to see. Could be low tire pressure or similar. Navigate in the digital dash area via the steering wheel buttons to the vehicle screen and find information.

Thanks for the question. That light just means that your headlights or running lights are currently on. This light will come on when you switch your headlight dial to any position other than off. If you have auto headlights that come on when a lack of light is detected this light will also illuminate then.

This is likely to be the anti-theft light, which means the system is active. If someone tries to break into your vehicle the car alarm will activate. There should be no warning or indicator lights active on the dash with the vehicle's power turned off relating to any issues.

The green light directly bottom right of the highbeams. Half circle with 3 lines mirrored.. I seen it on a couple times during the video, but no explanation.

It just means that your headlights are currently illuminated. No need to worry. Green lights are just indicators of a function.

I had a red light like a flag that came in the dash on left side by the meter it said something about high motor but it went back off

This is most likely your engine temp was high. Keep an eye on your engine temp gauge. You may be running low on engine coolant.

I have a 2019 escape titanium that started bucking like it was misfiring and the red oil light temporarily flashed on but then the problem stopped. The oil level is good. Would a misfire trigger that red oil light? Is that the check engine light too?

The oil light is separate from the CEL. However, I would still try and pull codes to see if anything pops up. You can schedule with your dealer, or a local shop, or at least go to an auto parts store to pull any codes off the OBDII. It could have just been some bad fuel that caused a misfire or bucking as you said could also be transmission-related. You will definitely want to look into this as soon as you can.

@@RichmondFordWestGlenAllen thanks for your reply. I have since hooked it up to my BlueDriver scan tool and there are no existing or long term codes present. Not sure if the bucking temporarily caused the oil pressure light to flicker. It happened so fast that I did not even know what the light was. I simply saw a quick flicker of red by the tach and I looked it up online to see that it was the engine oil light. The bucking has happened about 3-4 times in the past 5-6 weeks. It quickly resolves and does not repeat on any given trip. I have tried different gas but I did not think it was a gas issue because the station I get my gas at is less than 5 years old so the tanks there would be good. It has about 66,000 miles now so while the plugs should be good it’s possible it needs new plugs and coils but not sure. My experience with misfires on previous Fords I had was they caused the check engine light to flash or come on.

Modern Ford's have a large engine light that will illuminate in a yellow rectangle on its digital display. This will be in addition to the small engine light in the the gauge pod. As always a blinking light means immediate attention is needed, to shut the engine down. While a solid light means service engine soon. In this generation of Escape there is an illuminated "i" when the vehicle has "information" to share with you, this could indicate your oil life has expired, or your TPMS is sensing a tire is low on air for example. You can navigate to this sub-menu and it will give you more information. This is not however a replacement for a proper code reading diagnostic when you have an illuminated engine light.

Still not answered and I can’t find the answer on the web, on the dash there is a car symbol … what are the vertical lines on each side of the symbol indicate? Sometimes they are on one side of the car symbol sometimes the left and they turn colors.

This sounds like it is your lane keep assist indicators. When lane keep assist is active, usually by a push of a button on the end of your turn indicator the vehicle senses when you veer out of your lane. The indicator light will turn red when you go over the lines in the road. They will be green when you are centered in your lane on both sides of the car. The system only activates at over 40mph so if you are under 40mph, the lights will not be highlighted in green or red. You can also change the Lane Keep assist warning modes from visual, visual + warning vibration (which will pulse your steering wheel) or visual + assist in which case during lane drift the car will gently steer you back into your lane. These changes can be made in the vehicles in the dash menu under "vehicle." Hope this helps!

What is the symbol that's a A with a line through it ? Its under the car symbol and across from PRNDS. Ive looked all in the manual and can't find it but its even on in your video but you didn't speak about it.

That light is the auto start-stop off light. You hit the button with the A on it with the arrow under it lights up when the Auto Start-Stop activates and the A with the line through it means the feature is turned off.

@@richardpatricio3502 Auto-Start-Stop is a fuel-saving feature that all new vehicles are equipped with. A lot of people do not like this feature but it's nothing to worry about. The vehicle is designed to turn off at stops to save fuel. All vehicles have the option to turn this feature off via a button.

the "i" means there is information in the submenus that need your attention. Navigate to this screen and it will tell you why the "i" is illuminated. It may be just a redundant reminder of your oil change light. Whoever changed your oil 2 months ago forgot to reset the oil life reset before giving you your vehicle back which is why the light is on.

My mom said hers is showing a triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. The book just says "Safety Alert". Does this just mean she had her 4 way warning lights on? That's my guess.

No, it's more than that. A safety alert could mean that there is an issue with the braking or stability system. Your best bet is to have the vehicle checked and run a diagnostics to get a clear indication of the issue. Remember the yellow and red lights means there is a vehicle fault or failure that needs to be addressed.

This sounds like the pre-collision alert. In the situation where this happened were you close to hitting something with your car and had to apply the brakes? This is a safety feature from Ford.

That means there is a warning that you need to get checked or clear. It could be low tire pressure or low coolant. Navigate through your sub-menus to the information screen to display the reason the "i" is displayed.

I had the low coolant pop up just this night and the "i" is stuck on the info screen. What do I do please?

Look under your hood and on the passenger side there is a reservoir tank for your coolant, the liquid is orange. There are level indicator lines on it and if the fluid level is under min you need to fill it above that line to not exceed the max line. A tip to do yourself is to put the coolant in a water bottle to pour into the reservoir as it is tough to reach. Once its filled back to a suitable level the "i" should go away, if not you can go through the menu to clear the "i" from the screen manually.

Hill assist control. Your vehicle may have a loose connection at the battery or a bad sensor. This feature keeps the car from rolling back when taking your foot from the brake to the accelerator when it detects you are on a hill.

The "i" means there is information that needs your attention. In the sub-menus in your center gauge cluster, cycle to the section labeled "Information" here this will relay the information that is causing your yellow "i" light to be on. Could be low tire pressure or a low coolant level, etc...

The "i" means there is information in the submenu to be read. Navigate through the menu in the center of your gauges to information or system check to find out what is causing the light and clear it. It may be something as simple as low washer fluid, low coolant, or low tire pressure. Best of luck!
