2017 Ford Escape never came with this much technology! If you want to modernize your car and add wireless CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, this might be for you! 2016 escape - best advice is to dry fit new unit before adding wiring or the old vents. You can see what plastic needs cut out to fit and save yourselves lots of trouble

I just installed this in the identical car if this video and I can tell you it's not a simple plug and play installation. The back of the video display hits the front part of the plastic box that holds the factory radio which required use of a dremel tool to trim a large section of it off to get it to fit. You also need to cut out room for the connections to the GPS antenna and radio antenna. Speaking of the radio antenna, you will need to buy an adapter cable to connect the unit to the car antenna. What's also missing from this video is that you need to remove the plastic locking clips from the dash parts you remove and install on the new parts. Not sure why that was left out. Technical support from Seicane is a joke. They will respond to your emails, but they are of no help. I figured out everything about installation and using the unit on KZbin or trial and error. The unit does look good after finally getting it installed and seems to work fine so far.

I installed one in my 2015 Escape s. Ive had the same issues others have had with the 2015s. Steering controls arnt recognized in the software, original usb port just charges, no data transfer, and i cant seem to get Android Auto to work wirelessly at all. Wi fi hotspot from my phone seems intermittent, and the unit dosent like to hold settings, im constantly renableing wi fi and mph instead of kph in the settings. Any help would be appreciated.

I just installed this in my 2017 escape SE but the large harness that went in the back of my stock 8" screen doesn't have a mate with this new unit...my car also came with a back up camera but the harness I'm supposed to connect at the upper windshield near the hood doesn't have that factory cable to plug into...and my car came with 2 USB ports but there isn't anywhere to plug in...I'd zelle for some help. Basically, everything works, but the camera doesn't work since I don't have anywhere to plug that piece into, stock USB ports don't work, and my steering wheel volume controls don't work. Somehow, the screen actually controls my air and heat, which I don't really need because the stock controls are below. I'm hoping for some help.

Adding to my previous post: do NOT buy this if your escape came stock with the OEM 8" screen like mine. That head unit has a 54Pin harness and this kit does not come with one whic is why my steering wheel functions don't work, rear camera doesn't work, and USB built in port don't work. Since then, they sent me a 54Pin harness adapter to connect the video for the reverse OEM camera, but the feed is blurry and I tried every setting possible and nothing has worked. The 3 wires that go into the decoder aren't being used which I believe is why my camera still doesn't work....will update once I receive more instructions from customer service.

No issues with the mic, sounds pretty good. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but you can definitely understand the other person and they can understand you just as well.

I don’t remember which cable exactly, but you may have to go in the settings and enable/configure yours. Have you connected all cables?

I noticed a comment below where you responded to the TPMS light and I had noticed that it was on too when you were demonstrating the display. The battery and check engine lights were not on so it was not the same as when you start the car and a lot of dash lights come on then go off, so I just want to clarify why the TPMS light was on in your video. Was the TPMS light on as a result of anything you installed in this video? The company also sells "TPMS" as an add-on for this product so I'm curious if it is required because maybe removing the old head unit also removes the factory TPMS receiver and that could have been why your light was on? I really want to buy this product, and I've sent a question to their customer service about the TPMS light and to be sure it would fit a 2013 Ford Escape Titanium as it has a different dash configuration with a larger screen. So when you said below " I have checked since and all is good" you are saying the factory TPMS still works fine and installing this part had no impact on it?

Could anyone tell me what connects to the other side of the can bus decoder? If you look at 7:35, it would be the connector on the left side. I think it's a 2x7 header. My kit was missing whatever cable/harness plugs into that side of the decoder. There's also nothing connected to one of the 2 large connectors that was plugged into the original SYNC unit. Coincidentally, I don't have any SYNC functions and the tach & speedometer on the home screen don't work. EDIT: I emailed the supplier and we got it working by changing some protocol setting in the stereo. Apparently nothing plugs into those headers. Presumably they're made with extra connectors to adapt to a wide range of vehicles.

I ordered this unit from Seicane for my SEL 2013 Ford escape. They said it would be compatible with my vehicle but it isn't. The harness isn't the same as sync 2 head unit. They sent me what you installed but the wire harnesses are much different. No sound or wheel controls. A stereo without sound is completely useless.

I'm having the same problem with mine. The back of the display unit hits the plastic frame that the stock radio was mounted in. Did you ever figure out how to get it to go in? I contacted Seicane and they said something about adjusting the hardware case down to fit, but I don't see any adjustment. May have to send this back and get a refund if I can't figure out how to get it to fit.

The unit runs on Android (most do or Linux) but you can connect your iPhone to the CarPlay as I showed in the video

Yes the person that did make this video left out the most important information. Which makes this video helpful but totally useless. You have to cut two sections of the plastic where your old radio was in order for this to fit. You also have to use the clips from your factory parts to get this to clip in. Someone mention that this does not come with the antenna attachment to fit the new radio YES IT DOES. it comes with everything you need.

I ordered one from Seicane, (this exact one), they told me "It will work perfectly for your car" and its been a nightmare for over a month trying to communicate with them to help me connect it. I have a 2015 Ford Escape but with the 8" Sony screen/Amp. The sent me the same "Plug and Play" connectors as this unit. Obviously they are not the same harnesses after watching this video. Do you know anything the Sony Systems with the 54 pin/APIM?

They just tell you "give us more time", give you no answers, no help, won't let you get a refund, won't send you the correct harnesses or even help you find one. Sure we're both just screwed and learned a lesson of how horrible seicane is. I found out with Sony sound system it's really hard to decode the sound, if that's what you have. Good luck

Yes. It has both Android Auto (screen mirroring for Android) and Apple CarPlay (Screen mirror for iPhones). So, whichever phone you have, you will be able to use it like I did in the video for maps, phone calls, music, etc.

**2 week post install update** This radio is 100% garbage. I had high hopes it would be worth it. DO NOT BUY. Alpine halo 511 will be on order shortly. just installed this product in a 2017 escape model s. all required connectors came with it. yes, you do have to modify your car stereo mounting (plastic) to get this to fit. i used a pair of flush cut pliers to cut straight lines and only where i needed it to be. note, any aftermarket radio for the escape requires you to modify the radio mounting point in the dash, nothing new here. it was straight forward with install after that. unfortunately they skimped on the size of the radio bezel towards the lower end of the radio where it meets the dash. there is a noticeable gap. getting the radio (as a whole with ac vents attached) was a PITA. i drilled 2 holes above/behind the screen in the top trim piece so i could feed both USB connectors through. made the hole just big enough for the molex connector and each drilled hole holds the usb connector (at strain relief). i had no issues with the reverse camera settings. Only thing i don't like about this "head unit" is that i cannot figure out how to modify the home screen/apps. i want to delete un-needed apps and move specific apps from 2nd page to first (main) one. Also, still trying to figure out how to get the bottom (center) to show something other than the date. radio station or song playing would be nice. someone asked below how to remove the HVAC display from the screen. setup > canbus reversing settings > down to bottom, show aircon settings > hide

If your steering wheel buttons are not working you have to go to Factory Settings - Canbus setting- find your car on the Canbus setting. 2018 Ford Escape I have to select Raise for Canbus box. For car choice I selected Ford then 17 Kuga/17Eco_Sport/18kuga
