Thought you were going to go with Fitzee's method of making it from a few bits. You did it the "hard" way and it turned out spot on Dave, cracking job. Really impressed with the two hammers to make the bulges, lovely sharp edge to them.

Having watched a good number of your videos Dave I have to say I'm impressed with your fabrication skills, very nice. But, in this video I think you may have gone more for form over function...that part is a key strengthening piece joining the two parts of the chassis rail together and you have rightly overlapped two pieces to form that strength, but then you've gone and butt welded the fabricated item to the remaining chassis rails, which in my mind completely undermines the 6" of overlapped material.... why not overlap at both ends instead, it would have been considerably stronger I would have thought and given your level of skill it could have looked reasonably standard, not that is an issue for this build I suspect....Keep up the good work, very much looking forward to seeing the car progress... the pace has dropped now that I'm not playing catch-up with the videos! CheeRS!

Thank you, cossie engines are too expensive, I did mess about with a 2.1 Pinto with a cossie head before, but the cost got out of hand.

@@DavesGarageuk thank you, I have started watching fitzee’s chanel that you refer too, he’s great, I also watched a few bad chad videos, this one in particular on how to but weld with no warping. Very interesting technique kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZ3SoKqcqLt4Z9U
