I did the front guide block+ tensioner but I'm hearing a slap on the same bank as yours. However this gives me hope since I thought about tackling this in the same way. (or paying someone else to do it).

There is a way to change just the tensioner...easy job ,look in you tube at least 2 guys already did it..

FELIPE VALLES not if the cassette snapped and dropped down.
@felipevalles80414 жыл бұрын
@@iamdjnam agree, if the cassette is dropped,got to pull the engine or at least separate the tranny just like this guy did,pain in the butt.

FELIPE VALLES I’m very confident in the way this guy approached this project. The least ford should’ve done was make an access hole on the bellhousing to reach the cassette bolt. They didn’t, so you have to remove 20 extra bolts.

@@iamdjnam How hard was it to get to get the upper sprocket apart and torqued properly back together?
@josepharagon8259 Жыл бұрын
That rear upper cassette bolt wasn’t visible in your video…. That could be a problem… was it there?

I want to attempt this. I’ve pulled the 4.0 so many times. Did you remove the front driveshaft? Did you remove the torque converter nuts?
@Gancycle4 жыл бұрын
Yes disconnected front driveshaft and the touque converter nuts.

I wanted to add that most vids online show removing the engine, alot of work and not everyone has a garage. Just know that my next vehicle will have (one not three chains) an easily accessible timing belt.

Do you know how to replace the one in the front on the other head? Without pulling the motor ?

1 more question did u use the ford tools that hold the crankshaft and cams on place???
@Gancycle5 жыл бұрын
ChaconMusic I never used the Ford lockup tool kit. I purchased one and never used it, then sold it on eBay.

@@Gancycle O...ok thanks...i don't have the tool and don't plan on using it

Did u drain the transmission??
@Gancycle5 жыл бұрын
ChaconMusic No I did drain the transmission. I lost about 1/2 quart when I removed the transmission coolant lines. Never refilled the transmission and it worked fine when driven daily.

ChaconMusic This video is the Explorer I repaired with the rear timing chain guild. Yes 4x4 it is. Copy and paste the link or find it in my other videos a white explorer all cleaned up. I ended up selling it to my neighbor. He really liked it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4KliKlmq65la7s
