Its a shame so many car manufacturers made that stuf out of plastic. Had a 2010 f150 with a 4.6l had to replace the intake because it had the same design on the intake but a aluminum thermostat housing and cross over tube. Replaced it with a upgraded amazon intake for under 200 but have seen that so many rimes especially with Chrysler a frends minivan had a bunch of plastic heater hose parts i kept replacing them with pex brass fittings those never leaked again lol and even replaced the thermostat neck that was plastic all in a 3 year period finely something under the intake started leaking coolant could have been the intake but i couldn't do much at the time had heart surgery back in February and thus was last spring she finally killed it but it was on its last legs lol love your videos found this looking for the ej22 build yourube is a pain sometimes lol

I did all these steps over the summer. Worked fine for a while. Every now and then it leaks out the top hose connected to the housing by the hose clamp any idea?

They do make a metal one…. That’s the permanent fix for this. It’s around $170 if I recall correctly. Used to do a ton of these. Its better than dropping $100 on another piece of plastic

I did not onow that. Thanks for that bit of information. I will definitely keep that in mind if I do one of these in the future! I appreciate the heads up!

Incicidentaly the term Fix it again Tony applies to Fiat cars from Italy that were imported into the U.S. back in the 60-70's not to Fords as you suggest.

Where was leak finally coming out on bottom does it drip from passenger side rad eventually

You could mainly see it in the valley of the motor. It would leak down the front of the block and then out the back of the valley when it was full enough of coolant

I discovered recently that my 2010 Ford Explorer is leaking coolant fluid I sure hope and pray that my vehicle just needs that part in the video and I sure hope it's not a gasket or anything like that I definitely can't afford an expensive bill like that but I'm sure if it's just that same part in the video that needs replaced on my vehicle it shouldn't be too costly. I just hope that's all it is and not a gasket.

I found this part leaks pretty often because it's plastic and just breaks down over time.

Yeah I read about it online earlier today and apparently it is a common issue because of the part being plastic and it breaks down over time. I just hope and pray that that part that was in the video is all that my vehicle needs. I doubt it that it's a gasket it said online that if it were a gasket that my vehicle wouldn't start my vehicle starts up just fine though so I'm thinking it's probably just the part in this video that needs replaced and it shouldn't be too costly either. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though. 🤞

I think you should’ve use the metal one
@Fix_it_Garage11 ай бұрын
Your absolutely right I should have, but at the time I'll admit I didn't know they made an updated metal one. I will remember that for the next one if I do this again. Thank you for the advice though!

Dude, why make even the video when 90% is just you holding the camera up to your face talking and the part that actually shows the repair is done from a shitty angle in fast forward so you can’t even see what’s happening. This is less of a tutorial and more of a “look what I can do” video… Also, you didn’t show disconnecting the radiator hose because it wasn’t “eventful” but what if someone watching this needs to see where you do that from? It doesn’t need to be eventful it needs to be informative. Otherwise it’s pointless.
