This is why I like TK. They show the trucks doing the things most of us do with our trucks. Towing, muddy paths, fields, etc and not driving up the side of a mountain. 👍

Thank you for the test and giving us a cool video to watch! It'd be awesome if you had a set of "test tires" (like a set of moderate all-terrains on a set of wheels that fit ford and chevy) so we could see how the trucks do against each other with the same size and kind of tires. I totally understand testing them as they come from the factory though, it'd just be neat to see how they stack up against each other offroad with the same traction. The tires on the zr2 are definitely an advantage lol

Great Review for comparison of both trucks. Everything I buy is chevy. Over the years I spent over 300k in GM vehicles, most of these purchased new. I have reached my threshold on the inflated prices on these vehicles. It's gotten ridiculous. Used to be a Chevy guy myself - then switched from Chevy to dodge , now I won’t run anything but ford . The half tons with 3.5 have so much low end pulling power , the 5.0 coyote is so easily modified it can be turned into a 900+ whp monster with a fuel system , forced induction and a tune and is completely reliable , needing no top/bottom end engine parts ! ‘ The ifs of the 2500hd Chevy is weak , but rides amazing .. the new f250 with the 6.7ho rides nearly as nice with a solid front axle , and stock it makes 500 whp ! I have a 700 whp 2014 f350 lariat and will be getting a new ford with the 6.7ho soon . I also have a 2016 Lincoln Navigator with 155k hard miles that has caused me no major headaches its entire life , and just picked up a 2023 expedition limited. I’ve become a bit of a believer in the ford power plants . Also would like to add I drove a high country Tahoe with 6.2 , and 10 speed - and my expedition limited with the Ho 3.5 , feels so much stronger down low as well very potent through entire rpm range . Peak torque is at 2200 rpm’s vs 4500 in the Chevy “that is huge for towing in half ton world “

For TWO reasons.....the fold down / fold out steps work much better than the built-in steps. 1. The added Accessory Fold Down / Fold Out Steps provide a "distance cushion" between the person and the pickup box...allowing for better balance. 2. More room and overhang for the boot (foot). In addition, both GM and now Ford want people to think they are getting "something extra" when the main driver of that concept was to cut costs. The ABS polymer cost less than the displaced steel or aluminum.

When the ZR2 first dropped, EVERYONE blasted it for being so expensive and not being able to hang with the Raptor/TRX. Well, as you can see, price-wise, it's right in line with the Tremor, not the Raptor. Also, for most who daily drive these, they will never use the long travel suspension and will probably get tired of the fuel consumption of the other two, with their foot in it all the time. NOW, that being said, if you have the means to buy a second/play vehicle, Raptor/TRX are gonna be the fun toys... Anyways, just my opinion. Everyone has their own....

Great review. Crazy how close they are in price. Question for you and your dad-seems like the view out to front or how high the hood is designed is very different in these two trucks. Chevy seems way higher/more obstructing. You didn’t mention this at all in the video, so maybe it’s not as noticeable behind the wheel? Great review…as real world as it gets. Also…please add a “standard loop” fuel mileage to this test at real world speed. Thank you. You guys are awesome

For me the Tremor is a great truck-I own a F150 eco boost and there rock solid and Big pullers too. The rust on the F150's rear axle is an absolute embarrassment! I know it's cosmetic surface rust, but on a brand new $86,000 vehicle, it's bloody shameful. Shame on both brands for not doing a better job with the underside protection on off-road focused models. The ZR2 looks like a fun new toy. Too bad they weren't able to offer the diesel option at launch.

Great write up guys. Would have love to seen an impromptu 0-60 with the trucks towing. As a F150 owner the tie downs on the GM are fantastic. Coming out of a 2019 Sierra Denali , I can see the tie down points on GM is something all truck manufacturers need to do. I also agree the ECO is quiet and tame sounding when it comes against the GM 6.2/Ram 5.7 but let’s not forget the 500LB of torque on the Ford. All that torque downlow is nice advantage. Lastly ,I absolutely envy the father/son duo. Nothing better in life then your dad next to you. Supportive and Fkn super knowledgeable

Great video. My only thought on the F-150 when it failed in the mud is this. You took off the lockers (of course to even the playing field) but I see it this way, Ford knows what the truck is and is not capable of and this is why when you put it in mud/rutt it automatically locks up. I see that as great design. Of course you have the option to deselect it too. I was disappointed to see it fail there though. Again great video

For a modern pickup such as these, I much prefer a helical style limited slip diff over any locker. They'll always be there and used in any condition or drive mode and still are able to utilize the individual wheel braking through the computer to very nearly mimic a locker. If i had a dedicated rock crawling Jeep, sure a locker is a must, but for an everyday pickup that goes through mud and ruts and snow, LSD is a big selling point for me.

Just my view; I'll be looking at a 4 person side by side vs. either as a vehicle to get to remote hunting camps, they are making kits that make them usable in cold weather. However both makers have come up with some cool options. To answer "based on the bed", it's tough I to like the Chevy tail gate had the flip up load stopper. On the other hand, this is what I see happening with the chevy step; it is gonna eventually get clobbered when I forget I left the hitch on. As a truck owner I always have two load straps in the vehicle and I am generally able to use them to keep a load from sliding out the back. I still hear those that hate the twin turbo, I have say the low end torque of the twin turbo is not something I'd willingly give up.
