That's my goal, and solid truck base with a flat bed, and removable camper on top

Hey Phil, I hope you're having a great day! I really like what Overland Adventure Trucks are doing. They just don't stick to one style of Overland style of.camper box which is great.Your fan Leonard from North Carolina.

Pretty cool, I’ve got some ideas about possible adventure vehicles I’ve considered actually even building a couple and stopping me right now is being full-time on the road. I no longer have a shop to work out of.

Nice but I want a cab pass through
@jeffreykingmanАй бұрын
Absolutely! Only a few makers doing that.
@overlandadventuretruck4035Ай бұрын
Greetings! Quade here. Being 6’5”, a passthrough was not a priority to us for our personal/demo rig. We have done plenty of builds with pass throughs. That’s the nature of custom.

Entry steps need a hand rail system/ some takes a fall ugh!

I really don't understand why people prefer this over a cab over rig... it makes no sense to me. And btw... The Outbound windows are amazing! Have them in my van, and I love them!
@overlandadventuretruck4035Ай бұрын
@@our_roadtrip that’s the beauty of what we do, custom suited to your wants and needs.

Thanks for the introduction to OAT and Cascadia Composites. Wondering if Quade built that slide-out deck? If so, could a 4' deep slide-out deck be built for the entire length of the flatbed? Be nice to have a side deck you could put a Kelty double-seat folding couch with some slightly wider steps.

Maybe I missed it, but how long is the base of the box?
@overlandadventuretruck4035Ай бұрын
This footprint is 12’4” with a 15” departure angle
@woolengrapplerАй бұрын
@ thanks! Does this fit on an 84” cab to axle truck?
@overlandadventuretruck4035Ай бұрын
@@woolengrapplerfor sure! As you can see this chassis is a super-cab with room for a spare tire and cargo space between the cab and habitat. This chassis is a modified 2006 F550 with the same wheelbase as a current model 84CA For my build, I designed the habitat to be a direct fit to an 84”CA crew cab F550, though in this circumstance, some cargo volume would be lost and the tire would move to the rear.

They are cool, but 4x4s that large cannot travel in most offroad areas. Relegated to wide forest roads, at which point any RV can do. I’m not sure the ‘capability’ is anything other than theoretical. Fullsize trucks have trouble on easy/moderate trails in, for instance Utah, Moab areas. These are way bigger than a typical fullsize. That said, they are cool, and badass.
