Ford F100 Dana 60 4x4 Swap with Custom Radius Arms and Coils!

After installing the rear Dana 60 in the last video with custom hangers and springs we tackle the front suspension in this video. Using a Dodge Dana 60 we fab up some custom radius arms and coil spring mounts. This old F100 finally has a straight front axle swap and it looks so good.

i like my 70 highboy with dana 60/80 lockers rust free good clean body tool box on side came factory with tool box but with out the camper special package which makes it rare. if u get a 70/72 class c motor home like i did for free it has a factory tach in dash tilt wheel, am/fm ford radio, rose etching in the interior trim, wiper delay, power steering, power breaks, cruise control and air conditioning all will bolt right on a 70 highboy plus it all is for a 1 ton so it is perfect for a 3/4 ton or u can get the engine stands out of a 72 Lincoln the tilt wheel will bolt right in and the engine stand make it so u can bolt right in a 429/460 i went with a 390 and the motor home has a 428 in it . i got the truck with out the 360 for 250 bucks traded a junk car for a good 390

ps wait till u take it off road and drive it a little hard it will crack right were u welded it on the frame big mistake u should have bolted the spring mount on just driving it can cause it to start cracking the frame

It's crack free and I've beaten it off road, towed a car trailer and have been knocking out tons of miles on it! It's been good.

@@FedUpFab for now but did u know they have laws about this i worked at a shop and we had to go by the law and we had to fix a lot of rigs that had bad frames from people doing stuff just like u did. have u ever hear of D.O.T. these are federal laws for building and repairing vec.

Tuff stuff👍 I have a 59 F100 4x4 NP205 M400/C6 with a Cardan Center for a driveshaft, 78 Borgeson 4 bolt box and the 78-79 Snowfighter 60 High pinion on leaf springs.. my front tires (32x12.5's) stick out 3 inches. Fordemup🇺🇸

They keep it from squeaking and keep the coils in the right place. And it adds a tiny bit of cushion to the ride!

How did you account for the pinion angle? Did you base it off of the dodge factory position?

No it's shimmed. I set the engine at 3 degrees down so I shimmed the rear axle to 3 degrees up

Not knocking your fabrication skills but once again why are you welding suspension mounting brackets to the frame?!!!....should be fabricated to mount using grade 8 hardware.....also why are you messing with radius arms and coil springs instead of the classic Ford highboy leaf spring suspension?

I mean Ford had radius arms on their F100/F150s. It's a really solid setup that's more capable than a leaf spring.

That looks like the 96 axle which has a wider spring mount.
