Ford F100 Ranger Exhaust Upgrades! McVey 302 small block ford, Headman Headers, and Flowmaster!

Let's get back to some of the stuff we love, like classic hot rod trucks and this time it's a Ford! A new customer of ours brought us his very cool Ford F100 project that is now hiding a 302 SBF under the hood from "Uncle Bob" McVey. However that new muscle truck heart needs to be able to breathe better so let's free up the exhaust with some Headman Headers or Headman Hedders how they spell it, and a full American Thunder exhaust kit from Flowmaster!
Exhaust work is one of those situations where small things being off at one end, make a BIG difference at the other and as you'll quickly see there were some initial fitment issues to overcome. Unfortunately with any exhaust kit they rarely ever "fit" out of the box because there are pieces of the puzzle the manufacturer doesn't know or can't account for. Fortunately for us this Flowmaster American Thunder kit came with enough extra pipe we could do a little fabricating of our own to make it all work.
And of course who doesn't appreciate the sound of a small block Ford pumping through some shorty headers then the classic rumble of flowmaster mufflers? Another job complete!

I had a 69' F-100 Custom, 351w. Blue/green and white it started life with a 390fe. South Carolina truck, zero rust. Health issues forced me to sell, sadly. Great job on the exhaust system installation, always great attention to detail. Being a lifelong Ford guy, I have owned six mustangs including a 1975 Mustang 2 that started life as a four cylinder car but a 289 with torker intake and hooker headers changed all that in 1977. That car was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing this with us.

On the other hand, the only thing a Mustang 2 is good for is the 4th of July party in Glacier View Alaska. Automotive cliff diving. See Roadkill season 4, ep. 5. It was Glorious! Llllllets get ready to crumble!🤣 One last run! The Jeep Cherokee was the jump of the day! It was EPIC! PANCAKED the landing. 🤣But I digress......Cool old truck with an Uncle Bob build powering it. Customer supplied parts so Customer gets what Customer wants! 😉 It's really hard to hate on the classic SBF through Flowmasters sound though. We have more than a few Thrush setups on our toys around here

That's my truck. Exactly the same color n all. I built a wooden box on drivers side fender well. Points screwdrivers 2 wrenches all fit nicely. A horse ran out in front of me one night. Killed my green Ford truck. I miss that truck today. The Only good Ford.

Great work,and a nice build right up to those blowmaster mufflers lol,try Spintech and you wont go back and ive run blowmasters since 1986 lol first car was 70ss 454 chevelle as far as mufflers go,but since 2008 after i tried some Billy Boat system on my vette i got a 87 square body and dropped a 383 in it and watched some y-tube videos on exhaust,and 1 thing i noticed from all makes,was the cam thumping,could hear it more pronounced .
