I have a 2002 I just bought with 170k miles it runs good for the most part but the air filter box doesn't fit correctly coming off the fender well and makes it idle like crap when i first got it the air filter was dirty i changed it out and now it seems like its running worse the air filter canister seems like it doesn't fit properly where it comes off the fender well any suggestions?

It’s possible the plastic ring where it connects to the fender is bent or damaged
