Ford F150 4.6 V8 will NOT start or turnover

I was told the STARTER was my problem and I did replace it but still had the same problem. When turning the key the dash lights, Head lights and Inside dome light would come on and the motor and starter would not turning over. It was a relay problem

Thank you buddy you saved my butt. I was going up the interstate truck guide a few different times couldn't figure it out it wouldn't start back immediately and what your video played with that fused and it was very loose but got it pushed back in truck started right up. I am 10 minutes up the interstate now no more dying hopefully it was a fix

Exact same problem here, bought a new one at autozone, replaced it and bingo!!! Started like a matchstick. Thanks buddy.

All is great but you could have said what the relay was for my F150 is similar but it's a 2000 fuse box is different.

So a starter Relay? I gotta try this. My truck is on our logging trail way up in the Rockies. Imagine my surprise when I had a one-click start, no turnover, just a single click. With a brand Brand new battery, and Alternator. Dash lights responsive, no dips. I had to walk out at 4pm at night, at 9900 feet elevation down the canyon on foot with no cars up there, 11 miles in the dark with bears, mountain lions n sht. TO find the store was closed. But I got a signal. So I'll be trying a starter relay. Don't get into logging. It'll kill ya,. Next time I'll pack a gun on that kind of hike. scared the crap out of me. Luckily all I came across, literally, was a heard of Elk. Last night was a real BLAST

three days ago my truck started doing the same EXACT thing you showed in the beginning of the video, i suspected starter too initially, but i thought there may be another culprit just because like if i wiggle around in the truck and try taking the key in and out, on like the 5th to tenth try it would magically start, so i kinda suspected hey, maybe my chipped key has finally started to fail or somthing because i think they said even our kind of key has a little battery in it that can go out eventually, but i'm gonna go get this relay right now because i have a good feeling this is the issue with my 04 4.6l as well! thanks a bunch man! this is a great way to celebrate the $2,400.00 wheels and tires i litterally just bought for this truck, it thanks me by not starting hahaha.

Sheep dog- did the relay switch fix your truck problem? I’m trying to find someone who didn’t get fixed with a new relay switch and found out it was something else…because it’s not a relay switch for us. It’s also not the starter or an ignition switch. Just wondering what you ended up doing. Thank you!!! Corie

@@corie5867 relay didn’t fix it, my issue was 100% resolved by replacing the starter. Hasn’t done it since.

@@corie5867 when it does it again, tap the starter with something, I used a crescent wrench to just tap tap, fired right up, replaced the starter, haven’t had any issues starting since.

Sorry I do not know what relay. It was the top right corner. The square one. You maybe able to push on it and your truck may start. I have been told by others the same thing happened for them

@@yelenahernandez8263 ive been ripping my truck apart today, i checked which fuses were hot when the truck was asleep, looked for electrical shorts, i cleaned grounds and battery terminals (and it improve connectivity) put in a new starter and still nothing and jumped the starter! And then i did hear it engage! Its definitinity not getting the power it needs until i jumped it in my case, it free spun ( i think i got the wrong starter or the flywheel or since i have an automatic the flexplate is damaged i have to figure that out tomorrow! Im expecting that crap to be fine! im gonna put my old starter back and find out( but anyway the point is the starters not getting the power it needs... the circuits not getting there. . I THINK ITS THE IGNITION KEY! i kept ignoring this possiblity, the previous owner had a lot of aftermark crap and i was sure it was a short, but ive ripped all of that out now and its not. The ingition key felt really lose when i turned the key, and it reacted weird or reverted to the starter being less responsive! So its a sign, i ordered a new one 25bucks with key and will try it. Its part of the circuit that reaches the starter to turn on the engine. 🤕 There might be another thing i have to get like relating to the ignition switch, its under the steering wheel like a new plug but i yet to figure that out, its one of those two or both! Im hoping just the ingition switch i ordered is all
