2014 Ford F150 Won't Start, Engine Won't Crank...1 Click...Solved...

This truck ran great until a couple days ago. There's no warning lights, doesn't start. Engine Won't Crank. All power. Radio works, fan motor works, all lights are good but won't crank.

The simplest trick to check for a bad starter is to just use a pair of metal pliers and short out the large positive and negative leads across the solenoid. If your starter is good you’ll get a large amperage spark on your pliers and the starter will immediately engage. If this happens then your starter is definitely good….that simple. If that happens it would further suggest that either your solenoid is bad, or its not getting 12 volts to its activation contact (for any of several different reasons). To check this, run a 12 volt wire from your positive battery terminal and touch it to the activation lead of your solenoid. A good starter will immediately crank, proving that the solenoid is good, but its not gettIng 12 volts from the ignition system. Importantly, with a 12 volt lead attached to the activation pole of a good solenoid, a loud clicking should occur at the solenoid. If the starter doesn’t immediately crank, but the clicking is heard, then the starter is bad, but the solenoid is good. If there is neither clicking nor starter engagement with the 12 volt lead attached, then your solenoid is definitely bad. In the latter case, shorting the high amperage poles across the bad solenoid would still engage a GOOD starter, confirming that it is your solenoid that is bad. Finally, keep in mind that the solenoid activation pole is normally directly downstream of the activated LOAD pole in the starter relay of the fuse box. Jumping the female LOAD poles for that relay is the same as running a 12 volt feed line directly to the solenoid activation pole. Thus a solenoid click should occur with immediate engagement of a good starter motor. Solenoid checks can thus generally be done without crawling under the car if starter relay circuitry is understood.

For anyone with this problem. Look under your truck on the passenger side. Find the starter and see if the cables connected to it are loose. Mine were. Push the cables up and Tighten the nut connecting the wires to the starter. This video is dumb

I just had the same exact issue. I took the starter out to check the connections and had the part store test it. It was bad. 208 dollars later new starter installed and it cranks right up. My syptoms was everything would come on in the interior and could hear one click but wouldnt turn over. I hope this helps someone

the situation we are having is will roll over and will not roll over. when we tool it to a guy used a little wire on the fuse box to start it. We were told that a Sencer would cost 800.00 in the transmission to replace went got a different starter even now all it does is click

Are you talking about the fuse relay board? If he was able to start it from.the board you prob just need to replace the fuse or relay.
