I just fixed my 2011 Expedition using this video. I have zero experience with anything electrical. Its hotter than heck in Tennessee right now and had to have the AC working. Thank you so much.

Excellent Instruction, thank you ! The first thing I did was to check all the fuses in both the hood fuse box as well as the passenger kickpanel fuse box- all good there, so now I'm proceeding with your instructions from the video and report back. Thank you again!

So glad to have found this video. My AC in the front stopped working even though the back was working. I just touched the wiring harness and it turned back on. Now I'm going to replace it as soon as the part comes in. Thank you!

Thank you for posting. By following this video, swapping the plug on my 2016 Expedition was easy. I did have to get some larger metal connectors as the wires in the truck were a larger gauge.

Thanks, this fixed the AC on our 2016 expedition. However when it got cooler outside a month lower. I noticed the heater is not blowing warm air at all, just cool air. This has to be related? Any ideas what I did that could have caused this?

Made a joke to my girlfriend. 2010 expedition just passed 100k miles, “now it’ll start falling apart.” Jumped in this morning in 20 degree weather and heater wasn’t working. 🤦🏻♂️ Found this video, appears to be the culprit. Thank you for sharing! Done making jokes about my cars now…..

Dude that is the exact problem. Called Ford today. I have extended warranty. Diagnostic 125.00. since I watched your video. Not paying that. Lol. I wiggle the wire and voila it started blowing. Also I noticed after 2 minutes the wires going into the factory plug are getting hot. Too much resistance it seems. Do you think the loose connection is making it heat up or something is clogged. No cabin air filter. 2013 FE

Can you post a link for the connectors that you crimped and heat shrinks? Thank you. Planning on trying this. My 2017 has been doing this. We will either bump the wires for it to start or sometimes just hitting a bump in the road gets ot going

Thanks for a very comprehensive video. I have the same issue with my 2010 expy but i noticed the wires at the base of the harness get very hot when the blower motor is running. Is this a sign that the blower motor is failing and drawing too much current? Is the heat possibly what caused the connector to fail?
@mytechassiatnt6 жыл бұрын
Joel Dufkis i'm diagnosing now... Variable blower speed resistor control module wire. Blue and yellow has melted in the harness and the corresponding contact in the module. No loose connections.

I have a 2009 Ford Expedition. Fan only works on high. I bought the blower motor resistor for $87 plus tax at Oreillys and it didn't work. It actually was worse. It would stay on for a few seconds and turn off. I put the old one back and it at least works on high. Any suggestions? Should I buy the unit that controls the ac speed, heated and cooled seats,etc?

My '15 expedition had a burnt electric smell through the ac vents after putting the key in while I'd started it with the remote. Afterwards the smell went away but blower motor wouldn't go to high and seems like it's constantly switching switching speeds. I replaced the resistor and it didn't fix it. Should i try the harness next or would it more likely be the motor?

Replaced the motor, resistor, and connector and it still cuts off only at high speed. If the truck isnt running, I can run it on high. Soon as I start the truck it shuts off. I had 2 volt meters on the truck. One on the battery and one on the blower motor hot wire. When i crank it up when voltage at the motor drops to 13.4 it shuts off, but i dont see the volt meter at the battery drop below 14 v. Someone told me that the it could be the alternator that the PCM sees the reference voltage drop below threshold and cuts power to non essential item, IE HIGH SPEED BLOWER, But my alternator tester says its good. Not sure why i am having the voltage discrepancy between the 2 meters. I also swapped relays. ANY IDEAS?

2013 F150 XLT Supercrew. Mine just started shutting on and off the other day. Replaced $166 resistor, no fix. Replaced $128 blower motor, no fix. Relay, no fix. No wires or connections wiggling helped either. Ford and I are stumped.
@billyyoder81716 жыл бұрын
Kevin Durbin First verify the fan level indicator does show the fan symbol and goes up as you select higher speeds. If so, next back probe the blower controller signal terminal wire. With the key on and blower set on low the signal should be approximately 1 VDC. As you increase speed request, the signal should go up. On high the signal will be approximately 5 VDC. Search youtube for BSG. Brian Makuloco is a Ford tech and covers the blower controller. Also South Main Auto, Eric O does a detailed testing procedure of the Ford blower controller. Hope this helps.
