Your video was the final inspiration I needed to finally take on the heater core in my 99 F150 that has been bypassed for at least 5 years. There are some other videos out there that show a couple guys taking the dash out in 12 minutes but they don't explain what each fastener needs to be removed and what to watch out for like the indicator wire and shift cable. After watching your video about 4 times, I felt ready to just do it already. I was amazed at how fast I had the dash ready to pull. One hangup on mine that cost me some time were the 2 bolts on the bottom of the passenger airbag on my truck were security headed screws. One with 2 small holes in a pan headed stainless screw and the other was a rounded head allen with the little nub in the middle. I was able to shimmy the pan head one off with needle nose vicegrips but the round headed screw needed drilling out to remove the air bag. Once that was gone, the job went just as planned. Thanks for putting out a nicely detailed and descriptive video that was a big help to my long awaited solution for a no heat truck.

Great video Gilbert! I admired your lack of frustration and determination. I'm an old timer and remember changing a heater core on a '66 Ford Galaxie. It had four 3/8" bolts that held it in, from inside the engine compartment and the two hose clamps. Now that I own a 1997 F150, I will try my best to be as calm as you when I change the heater core. Keep making great videos Gilbert!
