Not clear why after cleaning it, it went bad again one week later. Is there an electrical component to it that worked okay for one week by just cleaning it? How does one know that it's not something external that will compromise the new one too, after another week or two after you install it?

Thanks for the vid. Didn't help my '99 but it ran fine to begin with. I just have poor acceleration and was hoping this would help. I probly should have tried intake vavle cleaner since it does have 210k on the odometer. I'll do that & post my results.

@@jayryan7473 sorry dude... I myself forgot to post what help me, turns out the DAMN EGR valve was rusted, blocked with carbon and corroded. After changing it out which took several days and after using a Harbor freight torch to heat up the metal it came out and I put new one on and van moved like a bat outer hell... I also did a full tune up after but for the past 3 months of 2021 it's back to poor acceleration so it seems I have to dig in the engine again to find out what's wrong, my engine only has 78,000 miles on the 4.2 V6 engine so it might be intake runners

@@hajileserpud9539 Have an auto parts store check your codes. Then air fuel mixture (long term fuel trim LTFT) during idle and while driving. And look at the EGR switch itself and the silicone hoses going from it to the exhaust. All three of them burn up and melt over time! Don't let the auto parts store clerk try to sell you a cheap hose like they attempted on me. I even handed them my phone with a picture of the part number I needed and they still tried selling me a cheap fuel line LOL. Silicone is for high heat, exactly what is needed on these since hot exhaust gases go through them. My current '03 F-150 V8 5.4 never had driving issues when I had the melted EGR switch but the service engine light did go off once I replaced it. You can also force smoke into the throttle body (be sure to have something pushing down on the accelerator with the engine off to open the butterfly valve) to see what part of your intake has a leak. Or force smoke into the exhaust tip to see what part of the exhaust manifold is leaking. Good luck!

He did not plug back the sensor, just snapped back in the whole assembly! At least, that is what I see in the video.

I installed a new sensor and it didn't run any better than with the old one. If I leave the sensor unplugged it runs great! What's going on?

How much direction should you really need? he clearly shows where it's located. If you can't remove one, and put the replacement in as the old one was, perhaps diy auto repair isn't for you.
