Well, that shows me nothing I needed to know about changing the belt.

Its normal for all ford power steering pumps to make noise you only need to be concerned when it stops making noise my 7.3 pump always makes noise its standard

Bet he didn't there's a little clip underneath the tensioner to hold it back helps to get the belt on quicker

Pick yourself up new radiator hose that goes around the belt. I got mine at Rifraf Diesel.
@Mebob200111 жыл бұрын
i wish you got the updated hose, so you didnt have to drain the coolant! when you install a water pump or P/S pully, buy the hose that goes around the belt dude! its 10 bucks

Double alternator hose. definitely better.

But do you need to remove the coolant reservoir in order to access the belt tensioner to give it slack?

No

Just replaced a broken belt and the new one just BROKE AGAIN! I made sure the grooves lined up with the pullies. Are there some other common mistakes made while doing this that I should keep in mind?
@ISCOOLBUS6 жыл бұрын
Justin lew hello there..... if for some reason you put players or pipe wrench or something that hurt the grooves on one or two pulleys it will continue to cut the belt
@victorloera18974 жыл бұрын
Also when the tensioner goes out it will sag slightly making belt wear and break till tensioner no good to a point even if you have new belt ,it will skip off.

I changed my serpentine belt and the top water hose had pressure and blew out coolant still under pressure The truck was running great but after changing the belt and hooking the hose back up the 7.3 engine even try to start it spins freely confused

Any ideas when that 1/2 inch slot is broken? Gotta love used trucks
@bigted45767 жыл бұрын
take the tensioner all the way off, should be a 13mm bolt holding it on between the two pulleys

@sandchar10 жыл бұрын
Why are you using a torque wrench on the tentioner ?!?!??!
@weezadodson749 жыл бұрын
Because it's a longer ratchet so he gets more leverage on it the belt tensioner on these is hard as hell to pull back without a longer ratchet
@ISCOOLBUS6 жыл бұрын
BSMotoVlogs 😁 it looks like he knows what he is doing..... I don’t think he has a breaker bars 😄

I just used my torque wrench for the same reason but I climbed up and into the engine bay and let the wrench lay towards the driver's side so that I don't have to remove the radiator tank. It's easier for me to leverage it and slip the belt on at the same time.
