Pro tip on our Super Duty's for this is to pull the driver side fender-liner. So much easier.

Just bought a "new to me" 2006 F-250 Powerstroke 4x4 today. It was a good friends truck so I know its history AND, he gave me all of the paperwork on it from day 1. I knew that it wandered on the road a little from riding in it with him. EVERYTHING in the front end has been replaced but the steering box was never touched and I was wondering if it was adjustable. Now I know and, I'll try adjusting it before replacing it. It has less than 130K miles and, except for $5K+ in "bullet proofing" (done professionally with receipts) to the engine, is completely stock...exactly how I prefer to buy my trucks.

Thanks for the diagrams. I have adjusted a vehicle too far and it will not return to Center on its own. Definitely want to avoid that.

I have done it all taken gearbox apart adjusted to the closest while not making it have tension against rack pinion which worm gear is in center. What I have found is that the actual play is in worm gear where bearings are at usually 24 ball bearings two different colors. Still trying to see how I can fix it I actually bought a lifetime rebuilt thinking they probably put a new worm gear and I was wrong . I have changed it all except worm gear seems no one sells a new worm gear.good video though very thorough.

Hey I know this is an older video but at this point anything helps. I have a 2004 F350 that I’m not getting power to the transfer case motor. Changed dashboard switch, both relays and checked fuses. What else can I try?

Get a multimeter and check and see if the motor is getting power when switched on.
