I am having an intermittent whining sound that comes and goes at idle. I have no idea, but seems to be coming from driver's side, top of engine, near fuel filter. That's close to turbo. Damn, I hope not.

@@oscaraguayo5311 yes, it appears it's an exhaust manifold leak. I can see soot on the underside of the heat shield. Getting parts now.

Just to verify, I had two broken studs on the driver's side exhaust manifold, and the manifold was warped about. 040-.050. I installed 2 new manifolds from BD Diesel. Truck is running great with full turbo boost.

Yup. He is right mine was making the same noise. Then all of a sudden I lost boost. Come to find out the VGT vanes came apart and tore up my turbo. There were no fins on the exhaust side and no VGT vanes. So yeah. $2500 later with new turbos. Upgraded of course. 😁
