Driver alert system detects when you're tired and has an alarm go off and sometimes vibrates the steering wheel. I was on holidays in Germany and nearly nodded off on the autobahn. That thing saved me and the car full of passengers

I will be sticking to my 5 door ST 3 as I don't like the back of the new Fiesta. Pity because I like the other improvements they've made. I note the 1.5 sounds just like the 1 litre 3 cylinder.

So I remember watching this video a year ago and wanting an ST. Well last Friday I finally got my hands on one and wow what a car. So much fun, picked up the Performance Pack based on what you and others said and yeah that LSD can really feel it on corners. What’s your opinion on launch control? It is because of the frequency of the recording equipment. I wish that it was a feature 😂😂 The lights are permanently on but it looks like the flicker because of the capture rate of the camera

Now that you have had the car for a while have the rattles got any worse? I'm a bit OCD on this and it could be a deal breaker for me. Assuming you have now done a few thousand miles by now, how do you rate it for build regarding creaks and rattles (including your sun roof that I rather like). I would greatly value your thoughts. Hi Tim. Thanks for watching. So I have done 13600 miles now, build quality IMO is very good. I've had no issues with rattles or noise, sliding Pano roof is golden. No issues at all. About to put some PS4 tyres on her as mine are pretty much shot after the Revo remap I've had done. So I do wonder if the road noise will improve a bit. Gotten a bit louder since the tyres have worn down. Great car though. I absolutely adore it 😍😍

I think it is because the bumper doesn't allow for the sensor. Maybe the Intercooler needs To be clear for airflow reasons

8.12 you state active dampers and mention in normal it's comfortable. It doesn't have active dampers so no difference to dampers between Normal-Sport-Track just drive assists and the exhaust valve change.

Hi will So last I heard there will be a 1.5 petrol 3 cylinder version and also a detuned 2.3 turbo from the RS. News changes weekly almost though. Rumour was that the ST 3 will have 275 bhp and the 2.3 T engine. ST 2 & ST 1 will take the 1.5 at around 220 bhp. Looking forward to the official news from ford though. As I say, only rumours at the moment.

Launch control can be activated from the ford performance view on the tft, when at a standstill you just need to press ok to activate. Also most aren’t aware the software on the car allows for flat change so you don’t have to lift off just dump the clutch with the accelerator pinned and grab the next gear.

Ford stated that the clutch can be used as much as you like for launch control. It is designed to take it. Tbh I very rarely use launch control. Nice feature, but not really used on my journey day to day. I'm 10,000 mike's in with fairly hard driving. Still feels as good as new.

Great review covering both the practical elements along with really showing what the car can do. I had the MK7 ST and was surprised at how good the mpg could be. It returned 47mpg on a sensible motorway run once whilst sticking to the speed limit. What mpg are you getting at motorway speeds in this? I suppose as you put more mileage on the car it will get both faster and more economical

Thanks for the comments. I did a run to test both A roads and motorways and got an average of 45mpg. Driven in normal mode. Wasn't really "trying" to be economic, pretty happy with that 😊

Same region as it's 4 pot rivals. It's remarkably similar in performance as an F56 Cooper S with the JCW performance kit. The 3 cylinder question dissipates after a couple of minutes behind the wheel. It's very torquey and keen to rev.

I've had under-steer, when taking a corner too fast while breaking, basically from bad driving lol. I'm still learning how to drive it at the limit. I've also had lift off over-steer, which is great.

The MK7’s handle well, but they can understeer for sure! I owned a MK7 for nearly 4 years and now have a MK8 and can assure you the difference in handling is pretty staggering with that diff. That said, you can put the same diff in a MK7, it’s just quite expensive!

Rattles and squeaks from new thats why i got rid of my MK7 ST 2,all them rattles got worse,then the brakes stated to get real squeaky too and for the price of this new MK8,not one bit of sporty trim inside except them seats,like that they finally gave us a sunroof in this one though! I have test driven 2 of these and the seats are too tight for me too,dull interior all dark and gloomy why FORD?

As a past owner of the M7 i still think Ford could of give us much more power in the ecoboost 1.6 but hey! that would of been too close to the Focus ST power performance,i think the 230 Mountune map is what the M7 could of left the Factory with even the ST 200 was not worth the buy as a stage 1 map was so cheap and so close to the ST 200's. But i like the sunroof option alot on the M8 now. Another great review from a real owner thx's!

Terry C the mk7 has room for so much power, if only ford had utilised that at factory. But hey a after market map and a few hardware tweaks and your getting serious gains for the money. And if you’ve got several grand lying around you’ll get an easy 300hp+ and start walking golf R’s 😂😂

Hi Carl. I work in the luxury vehicle market so my version of quality is maybe a little skewed. Poorly out statement I suppose. A more accurate description would be that I'm not expecting the same quality as say an Audi A3 or BMW 1 series.

Sounds like you bought the wrong car. 24 grand I expect quality! Could of got a 17 plate golf r for the same money and had it all.

@@rosspemberton I'm not saying the golf R is the best thing out there I'm just saying for a similar price he could of got one with low miles one owner. He had alot of negative things to say about quality and so on and wouldn't be saying them with the R and more so with the 7.5 R. Not the best on track but country roads even in the wet it grips like crazy while feeling safe. Would you really take one of theses over a R?

I was sceptical of the 0-60 in sub 6. Had to watch it back a few times whilst editing to make sure the stopwatch was correct. According to the "internet" the JCW manual does 0-60 in 6.6 and the ST in 6.4. Only marginally quicker according to dealer figures Thanks for watching

I am seriously considering buying an ST3 for a long time now and now those 0-60 times make me go and order one. Think about uploading a video with pulls on 3rd-4th gear etc. Should be interesting.

Mr Codiotec a Civic Type R FK2 or FK8 does 0-60 in 5.7 with no twitching left or right!You can actually get 5.3 if driven perfectly! For a fwd car that’s probably the best time you’ll see done cleanly with minimal wheel spin. There isn’t much point chasing 0-60 times in fwd cars if you compare what the awd monsters can do it in i.e Focus RS, Audi RS3 and so on, having said that Fiesta seems like a fun car to drive.

⁠I’m looking at a st fiesta that looks exactly the same it has ford performance setting / normal sport and track unsure about the gear shift lights but has launch control. How would I know if it definitely has the performance pack thanks Ps has the amber st light that comes up at 6k briefly thanks any help would be wicked 2018 grey plate same as this thanks
