You should always pretreat the filter. Pour in some oil and roll it around at an angle to saturate all the filter material. Then pour in enough to where it will not pour out horizontal to the ground.

Is that the stock oil dip stick? I’m in America and my fiesta has a plastic one that is hard to read in my opinion. Just wondering if I could order that one.

Not sure if I have a 13mm spanner, will an adjustable spanner work or is there not enough room? Also will I be ok to reuse my sump plug?

Haha, you made that oil filter removal look more difficult than it is. Push some hoses out of the way and it pops right out. I'm almost at the 30K mile mark. I do my oil changes every 5K or so with Mobil 1 Synthetic and the standard Motorcraft filter.

I usually use Mobil 1 as well but decided to see try Castrol this time. haha you are right about the hoses :)
