Congratulations Adam for the "new power" in your Ford Fiesta ST! I have upgrade made for DVX Performance in my ST and they made through a tablet connected to the port. First, they checked the stock maximun power (with the tablet connected to the port)on road, it has 192 hp and 29,5 nm of torque (with K&N filter and admission sistem of ST200), then we stopped and they put the remap, we went on road with the tablet connected again and now the car has 218 hp and 32,0 nm of torque. I feel the power since 3500 rpm specially to 6.500rpm. Now i should like to go to a dynamometer but there isn´t anyone near to my house. Nürburgring Nordscheleife is waiting for us ; )

thanks sooo much for this video! only video showing the mtune/cobb clearly and how it works! I have 215 and cat back and sports cat ready for mr230, I have all the hardware to be fitted Including the mtune, I got that first as my ecu light came on due to sports cat prior to mr230, and planned to use it to clear the light in till I could afford it, i was told the mtune auto installs upon connecting which annoyed me, as my old bluefin gave u a yes or no option so have left it on, now finally just cleared it down! thanks to your video! FYI I'm booked it for rest of 230 to be fitted next month!

Adam Rainey it was very helpful thank you, and I will I'm exited, I also have the mountune knob and gaitor I went for black though, got short shifter and just fitted rear mount, I highly recommend the short shifter most of all, also the mtune is a cobb, the cobb has launch control in the settings somewhere which I have recently found out, does this mountune one have the feature? and do you like he gauges? or is it just a bit of a novelty?

The mtune is indeed just a re-branded Cobb but mountune decided to take out some of the features that the vanilla accessport has. One thing I noticed at the start was that the mtune doesn't bother taking a copy of stock tune but the vanilla cobb does. I think this is to stop people from transferring the mtune to different vehicles. They also removed quite a lot of the gauges that the vanilla accessport has. I dont know why they did it and because of that I probably won't bother keeping the mtune plugged in all the time as the gauges that remain aren't all that useful to me. Mountune also removed the launch control feature I think (if not I can't find it lol), again I don't know why they would remove features but looks like they did. How do you find vibration with the rear motor mount?

Adam Rainey ahhh i see, I just like the idea of a boost gauge and shift light, although the novelty may wear thin after a while, and on other KZbin videos it seems to be under the calibration setting? I'll have a browse in a month once mines installed, and it's only been on a few days so will leave a while before I give you detailed review, it is a little more, it's fine on idle and driving, feels "meatier" the full exhaust seems deeper too, the main vibration I notice is just when you slow to a near stop, just as I'm slowing (about 5mph) when the engine gets to 1000rpm, and then when u finally stop it'll drop to 800rpm idle, just between there it does vibrate, almost felt like I was about to stall but now realise this is just added vibes, getting used to it though, (this was so with heated seats and screens on) which labours the engine more, can't say much in gear changes like people mention, still a tad jumpy with it but Deffenetly pulls better when in the gear, and brake seems much better? doesn't seem to lunge forward when u press the brakes as much as before, easy to fit, took less than hour, honestly the mod I recommended the most is the short shifter! it's amazing, most mods I'm a bit hmm I duno hmm guess it's OK could be better, but the shifter is a Deffo must have!

Hi Janne, unfortunately not. Mountune get the Accessport from Cobb and then modify the software to lock it down

Did your insurance premium change much with the upgrade? I have a relatively low premium on my stock ST-2, would love the upgrade but would rather stay stock if the insurance was going to jump up

Yes and no. Once the device is married to your car, it cannot be used on another car until it has been unmarried and Moutnune have to do that for you at a cost

Hi Michael, the day running lights just came on mine when I got it. Not sure if they were part of the style pack or just standard here. For you, you may have to either get a euro headlight setup or look to the aftermarket

you would have to contact mountune to get a stock map which likely will cost u money. The handset is going to be locked to your car so selling it on would be uneconomical for the buyer as they would also have to pay mountune to get it switched to their car

If you buy the package online then it will come to you and you can do it yourself. If you want a dealer to do it, you can just contact the dealer and book it all through them and they will provide the parts. If you do it through the dealer, you won't get a handset

Kevin Montgry Hi Kevin, you can buy the tune on its own and fire away and it will work just fine. If you had any issues then mountune may not honour the warranty but I don't think you will have any problems!

Yes that's right. I just threw money at them in the end cos I wanted to get it and keep warranty etc and trying to contact someone in the know at my local Ford dealers was difficult. Now that I have it I would say it is worth it. I definitely do feel a difference

Hi Charlie, yes the intake and air filter comes with the package. With the package bought from the mountune online store you get this handset which is used to flash the ecu but then you can either leave it plugged in or remove it. I'm not sure if the flash done at Mountune HQ includes the handset or not

Hi Andrew, the mTune device will not save your existing map. If you want a stock map you have to contact Mountune and probably pay them to give you one :O Already remapped, I'm not sure. I would guess that it would just overwrite it as normal

Hey Adam. I have the mountune airbox so just need to get the map. I have the option of either buying the mTune device for £499 or getting the map loaded on by Mountune for £350. Their HQ isn't too far from me so travel isn't a concern but I just wanted to hear your opinion on the mTune device. Would you say having the mTune device is worth the extra £150 that I would have to pay as opposed to getting just the map loaded on by Mountune? Do you find yourself ever using the additional features that the mTune device has to offer?

If you are close to HQ then just drop in and get the map I would say. The mTune is pretty useless beyond loading different maps on. It does have an anti-theft mode which is basically a separate map you can load that stops the car from being started so if you are going on holiday you can disable the car but for £150 I don't think it is really worth it. Mountune removed a lot of the cool gauges that the vanilla Cobb accessport has which is a bit lame, if they hadn't done that then it would be super sweet but instead I just keep it in the little pouch it comes with

Now that i almost paid off my ST 2, may finally look into MP215 😆 just need to look into my clutch though, may have slave or master cylinder problem as clutch sometimes sticks to the floor. 🤔 Does the handset stay plugged in to the ODB port?

Handset can be left plugged in but it serves little purpose so I unplugged it and put it in a drawer

This isn't quite correct, I know people who have flashed their ecu from a mountune map to a map from another tuning company. The mtune device itself becomes locked to the vehicle and you can't upload custom tunes the way you can with the regular Cobb accessport

You can set the shift light thing to flash at certain RPM a bit like a racecar so you can set it at 6000 say for example but unless you position the mtune right beside your face, you aint gonna see it. You can leave it plugged in all the time if you like or you can plug in if and when

It does give noticeable power increase yea, especially after 2nd gear. Overboost functions the same before and after but you feel it push you more with the extra power. You need to factor in the weight of the car - little over 1000 kilos compared to the likes of the focus which weighs in the region of 1500 kilos, so the 16bhp increase is equivalent to 24bhp increase in a larger hatch

Mighty RS its a great upgrade that maintains the manufacturers warranty. You don't need the handset if you get the ECU flashed at a Ford MT pro dealer. Dealers should only charge for an hours labour to install the airbox and flash the ECU so it will probably work out cheaper without the handset (£599 + labour) If you are not worried about the manufacturers warranty, then have a look at the Collins Performance CP2 package. It's a Stage 2 map that can be installed without any supporting mods. Mods can be added that then free up more more power I've found Fiestastoc.com really useful over the last couple of years of owning my ST3. Definitely recommend joining

trevor taber Just the act of installing yourself does not invalidate warranty. If you had an issue which upon investigation by Ford found that it was as a result of incorrect installation then they would not be obligated to cover the issue under warranty. As far as the handset only option, Yes that is a fairly recent release

Hi Tom, so this map requires the induction kit which is available together with the mtune direct from Mountune. After that is installed you just plug in and do the remap and that is it!

It's a locked tune. You can't do anything with it, really. For that, get an AP with optional tunes. Lots of them out there.
