This helped me. I checked my 2012 Ford Fiesta and all three ground connectors were painted. Scraped that stuff off for a better ground connection. WTF, manufacturers?! WTF. And hey thanks youtuber! I wouldn't have noticed those bottom two connectors without you.

i just tried it. and the magic happened 🤩 now i dont have jerking my transmission drive smoothly. and the biggest difference is my voltage. i got a reading of 13.4-8 always. and i just thinking that my alternator was bad. when i do this my voltage is now normal. i got 14.2-4 now all accessories are running.. tomorrow ill do a long drive. then i will update you guys.. thank you for this video.. by the way i have focus 2012

I did this fix to my daughters 2015 fiesta. AAmco said it’s bad trans and quoted $4,750 to replace, the dealer said to trade it in. I changed the negetive wire from batt and the 2 lower cables were grounded to paint. IT WORKED. Drives like a champ. Genius work my friend thank you!

did that to mine but used s dremal to remove the paint and then coat the metal to metal contacts with dielectric grease to protect em..also resulted in better voltage readings too couple days of driving for me to notice it was driving waaay smoother then b4 "powerShit" transmission "relearned" or somthing maybe..but its been 3months and still smoother than b4 I made the grounds better

I just do this on my fiesta 2016, I don't have any transmission problem with it, but i notice that when i put the A/C ON since i buy it in 2016 the car lose power, after make this the car work perfect, no more power lost, not even for a second, nothing nada, is awesome. i do this preemptive because i know how important all electronic components need exact power to work, a motor with low voltage run slower (less rpm), the transmission use 2 of these, it mean slow move of the 2 clutch, more wear over time. Sad i no know this before. Thank you.

Got my ford fiesta 2013 and it shows trasmmission malfunction error after going to diagnose scanning it says need turbine speed shaft..based on this videos try to clean circuit supply wires as my car was not used for more than 2years and 7 months ..battery was fully drain then just went to recharge it then used it for around 10 days then this issues of transmission malfunction..do you think scrapping and cleaning can help as it cause me 80 usd for diagnose scan and turbine speed shaft qoute of 200usd excluding labor

I’ve got a question I have 2012 Ford focus I got Told The ECU needs grounded I don’t have the transmission problem but I do have the transmission warning Service soon pretty sure that’s why speedometer don’t work because it has to go through ECU and all of that I’m thinking if I clean the grounds maybe it will help or fix the problem

Hi Phillip I have a question, on that negative going to the strut tower when u disconnect it to scrape does it disconnect the battery from the car’s power, the reason I ask is because I have a breathalyzer device on my vehicle and I cont be disconnected for more than 5 minutes, thank you again for your awesome videos Jim

If you have a breathalyzer I would check with the installer to make sure it's not going to affect the unit

Hi, I need your help please. I have a 2016 Ford fiesta and it will not turn over. There is no clicking at all and the battery has 12 V. The radio and lights all work, nothing is dim. I scanned it and it is throwing code p0882. What do you think I should do?

I keep getting p087a but it comes up randomly. After every 3 times I turn the car on the check engine will be on and I won't be able to reverse, or shift properly. I sanded the first ground but didn't realize there were more as in the video. I plan on changing the B clutch actuator and sanding the ground again. Hope it solves everything

2017 Ford Feista SE. When I drive it sometimes it feels like it loses power or the brakes are on and I have to pull over because it pretty much stop. I do get a hill assist on my screen. The car goes in gear and wants to move but feel.lile the brakes are all on. If I wait and hour or so I can drive e it but it will end up doing it again. Really need some help

Hello I have a question I bought a ford fiesta 2016 with already malfunction trasmission it would drive back and forward but didn't want to make the second gear then I thought of changing it with a used trasmission and did that now it's showing me the 3 sensor the p0715 and p0720 I need help the car starts like it should and then when you put it on drive it run but not long same with backing up so my question is does this sensors can make the car malfunction on the trasmission to not run like it should

The hardest thing was finding my socket! Sanded the paint, Yes the paint! This 2013 Fiesta had already been through the call back. I purchased it with 45k miles on it for 8k$ in 2016. Always had a little shutter and bucking when shifting . Good mpg. Fast forward...last week battery needed a jump. WOW... after the jump.. service light, engine light, transmission failure.. needs service! Bought a new battery. Limped home in safe mode. Found out about the ground. Sure enough....PAINT UNDER THE GROUND LUG! Sanded off... Went to o'reilly's and cleared the codes..... 42mpg. Shift's like a new car....! Shame on Ford!!

I have a 2014, tranny shuttered from 5000km onwards. Still stutterers to this day with 307,500km on it. Radio went on her and squeaks in a high pitch every so often, wiper motor fried and the suspension is shot. Other then that, I just do oil changes, tires, filters and gas. There's not too much to complain about but there's also enough to be annoying with.

Thanks Philip; + on top of your connections-clean, the following may help: ..............Comment Title': "You need a half-life left to new(full life) battery, pref the bigger crank amps choice, for the servo's on the DPS6 to work properly!!": ............I discovered 'by death' of the battery that installing a new battery got rid of the 'shudders' that are the warranty complaint on these years of this transmission (2014, dps6 auto trans) that in my case (may be prevalent as no one would expect it; 'and' dealers LOVE to screw the manufacturer on HUGE WARRANTY CLAIMS = massive part of a typical crook dealer's income!!) . I was running about with a 'quite' tired battery but it'd always 'just start' so you're want not to change if it 'still works', can 'get a jump' etc. So far it seemed that was the problem on hill grades and take offs in 'slow rpm's'. So one day (VERY nearly took it in to have big trans fixes on the warranty! but as dealers are shady i luckily just missed the period to take it in :):) would have been ancillary charges up the caboose). ***POINT; TRY A NEW BATTERY - ENSURING YOUR ALTERNATOR WORKS TOO OF COURSE - BEFORE YOU PULL THE BLEEPING TRANS,PLATES ETC, :) *********this very cool 'racing rally' dry clutch trans is a neat unit (was used for fuel mileage but fiesta is a rally car in europe , big reason installed there) is controlled by two MAIN SHIFT SERVO MOTORS, ELECTRIC, SO THE AMPS HAVE TO BE THERE FOR SHIFTS, AND THE ALTERNATOR ISN'T ENOUGH ELECTRICITY AT LOW RPMS TO SHIFT WELL. I HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU!

That's exactly how I describe it. Feels like someone who kinda understands how a clutch works but let's the clutch out too slow, rides the clutch at all times and then sometimes decides to let it all the way out

i have a mitsubishi rvr ,disconnected the battery when i replaced it,problem jumps from 3ard to fourth(auto),what i did i figured disconnecting battery again not a good idea,i disconnected computer module cleaned with contact cleaner,took about a day for problem to go,so very happy,hope this helps someone else.,also this was all my idea.Also i think bad idea disconnecting battery you can buy those module connect to cigarette lighter so when you disconnect battery it is still connected,called 9V memory minder sca,uses a 9v battery to retain a vehicles onboard computer settings,cost $10

I don't have the 'jerking' issue, but I do have the error code on the dashboard saying there is a transmission failure thing happening. (I forgot what it was, sorry. I've been trying to find how to fix this for a while now, without having to take it to the dealer and spend tons of money to get it fixed.) Will this work to fix that? I do have an issue where the shifter will lock in place while I'm sitting idol and I can't move when I hit the gas and I can't move it unless I turn off the engine and turn it back on again. (Its ford fiesta 2012.) I've never had a car that you can't add transmission oil from the top. And I never knew it couldn't until that error showed up. I usually take it to jiffy lube to get an oil change every 3 months. So I do take care of it, but I just don't know what's going on with it now. And this stuff freaks me out when it happens. especially while I'm driving down the road and I hear that ding from the dashboard showing me that error.

Hey whats up i have the 2012 ford fiesta ses model when i drive fast for awhile when i slow down sometimes it wont or has trouble shifting to 2nd n 3rd n 4th gear revs real high b4 shifting n when it does my car jumps then i get a msg transmission hot wait 5 mins then i get a transmission failure service immediately but if i let it cool down it drives normal shifts ok but does not pick up speed fast, slow acceleration, stuttering n lag down shift...its either bad solenoids or my TCM...could the ground be the problem? i also put a high performance K and N cold air intake system(sounds lovely) spark plugs n wires i changed to performance plugs n wires n tuned it n a few other things i forgot what i did but i give 8 cylinders a problem lol

I just scratched the paint for my 2012 fiesta now the transmission is working fine, I replaced the alternator 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ I was told that that was it and nothing. Replace the battery and nothing, so just try to remove the paint from there and see

Although I liked their looks, I shyed away from buying a Ford Fiesta/Focus “because of its notorious transmission issues.” If I had only known! These cars DO NOT have a transmission problem (per se), they have an AUTOMATIC transmission problem, which is something else altogether! I prefer manual transmissions, and Ford Fiesta/Focus manual transmissions are FINE! Why didn’t Ford make it clear that the MTs are fine? I think I know, and it has to do with Ford phasing out MTs, to improve profitability. They want us to think customers didn’t want them, but in fact, customers were DISCOURAGED from buying them. They wanted to streamline production, to save a few bucks.

I would suggest having someone do a parasitic drain test to try to isolate what may be drawing power while of the ignition is off

Common problem on focus/ fiesta.of any year... ADD EXTRA EARTH CABLES,..... measure from strut tower to other earth at rear and to the chassis earth under the battery/air cleaner.. buy cables this length. on this car i would put a short one from strut tower to the rear earths and another one from strut tower running down under battery to the chassis ground and or to the earth point on the transmission case. Depends on your year and model.And CLEAN all factory earth points as in this video. Some 30=40% of all computer problems with these models are simply BAD earthing. Double them up!!!!! For the small cost and an hour or 2 of work the best bang for your buck on a ford with intermittent/ phantom problems .
