Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 2003 Idle Issue

Hi im looking for an answer as to why a 2008 fiesta mk6 is idling at 2 1/2 revs and increases ive took the throttle body off and cleaned it best i could ( i before hand had to engage the fuel pump as the car was in a tiny collision to the front so i had to prime it by taking the glove box out and tapping the yellow button and it started up but was constantly high revs) any advice would be grand

It could also be down to fuses until this day i am confused on how I thought cars worked 😂

Hello, I have the same problem, and I replaced the switch that you cleaned, but it doesn't fix it, the car starts, but if I don't press the gas, the car shuts off. can you help me thank you

Hi Daniel! I have a identical problem with 1.4 fiesta 2002 , but i can't find the idle control valve? Where is it my friend ;)

So from what u remember I opened the bonnet, took the engine cover off and unscrewed 2 screws where the air intake is and took it off and gave it a clean, unfortunately I cannot remember exactly since it was a little while ago and can't make a video of the car as I do not own it anymore hope this helps

Ladarius Hall,I solved the problem, opened the throttle body and cleaned it with a special spray, the air valve was blocked from too much accumulated smoke.

Yeah the air control valve ! But had to replace it on this one

@danielh2174 hi mate , please help:) same engine, same year, similar mileage, and the exact issue. I've cleaned the throttle body but nothing, I dont think this car has idle control valve ? Can you help

@@mparylo try clean the air throttle valve, it seemed to help when I did it, also check for any split pipes or try and hear any air hissing out then could be a different issue. I hope this helps bud

Change the coil pack and spark plugs and ht leads and check the cylinders for any water or oil if there is change rocker cover gasket and freeze plugs
