I think you can turn off hill assist in the settings. I've done it before on my ST but I kept it on and helped a lot driving in LA lol. Debating whether to get a RS or an STI, but like you said you rarely see these cars on the road which makes it a gem to have. Great review on the car bro 🙏

I bought a 2018 last year….. I had a Focus ST before that….. Both great in their own ways…. The AWD system on the RS is where it shines & gives you added confidence…. I like what you said at the end…. Just be careful buying a used one & the head gasket was/is an issue. The recall was: 17B32 cylinder head gasket. And I also agree that most younger people are buying the ST & not the RS…. The RS will run on average about $12-14k more than an ST, which eliminates the younger crowd w/o a lot of money. All & all, it’s a great car for the right person…. If anyone’s unsure about it, just go drive one & see if you can live with it for daily duties. If you’re on the ‘bigger’ side, the heavily bolstered seats maybe an issue for you…..

I have a 2017 RS Focus in Nitrous Blue- its a keeper, and yes its a "beast". Previously had an Escort Cosworth Lux and the RS is a better drive. Its value, as the last RS, is only going to go one way and thats up!

I can say that the "anti stall" feature is not that intrusive, you only feel it when you do something wrong, it only blips the throttle a very very little, i only feel it while reversing and i actually enjoy it. In first i never felt the car do anything, also you can stall the engine without a problem and it has a quick recovery system, if you fully engage the clutch it will auto-start the engine like it does with the start-stop feature.

Great point about the auto-rev feature. It does not turn off, which is a shame. Why they did not make it optional, or at least keep it off when it senses I am on the throttle, is probably just for accessibility, but they should have thought of the experienced drivers, too.

The black bodywork pops so shiny. How did the owner get it that standard. Was it resprayed, detailed or PPF?

That's it mate you're driving the latest and greatest. Ford aren't making another RS Focus.

I got my ST3 new for 36K all said and done at the time. Very high price IMO. But the RS wasn't available when I was looking for a vehicle in 2013. When they did come out in 2016, the dealer mark ups killed my interest in getting one. I couldn't bring it to myself to drop 47K on a Focus. Likely could find a used one now for a sensible price but I usually only buy these types of cars new because I really don't want to get one that's already been beat on. And they don't sell them anymore so I guess I'll never own one. But my ST is just fine for me :-)

What shift knob is that?

350 hp at the crank, on a dyno my RS made 306whp. Same as my FBO E30 ST. The only thing I prefer about the RS is the seats, sound system, steering wheel and the lightning blue color

You don’t like the AWD?

Lol then you stage 1 the focus RS and it's at 440 hp leaving your POS econo ST in the starting line.

@@renedelgado1572 i own a 410whp bugeye WRX lol. I sold the RS a couple weeks ago and got an e30 M3 instead

@@BlueSkyCrystals i already have a built 03’ WRX, definitely a much better awd system than my RS. The subie is lighter and also just a more fun car to drive considering all the mods I’ve done to it
@BlueSkyCrystals Жыл бұрын
@@gnarcotics_ Sweet, but you were comparing the RS to the ST, not the WRX. That’s why I was curious about you not mentioning the AWD.
