100% agree with you! My parents had a 2008 ST when I was 15/16 and it began my love for it and for cars. They sadly sold it and I've been wanting it back ever since. Some of my best car memories were in that car. I'm currently 21 and trying to gather enough money to get one, although with these fuel prices I may have to hold off, that 2.5 is thirsty!

Don't hold back, its smiles per gallon not miles per gallon that matter. They're shooting up in value aswel so if you wait too long it might be as expensive as the Sierra cosworth in years to come

The car that turned me into a petrol head was a Mk2 Astra GTE in Polaris white , the digital dash was a headturner for me and beating all those Golf GTI,s and Scirroco,s of the day was a hoot , needless to say that was years ago in my mid to late 20,s , I m now 59yrs old and have had many nice cars , my first ST was a 2006 electric orange Mk2 , couldn't get enough of that 5 pot burble lol , was in tears the day I traded it in , turn the clock forward and many more cars I,m now driving a 2015 Focus ST Mk3.5 in Tangerine Scream , once again loving the ST experience , love your channel and the videos mate and nice to see a fellow Scot on here , keep up the good work bud 😁👍

Would need to say the cavalier Sri that my uncle had loved the thing. His pal also had an escort cosworth and that was epic. Finally the clio Williams would have one of them I'm a heart beat

Had two Sri's in my life, the 1st one I bought back around 1999 was in a nice silver and then I bought an almost brand new SRi Vectra back in 2006 in Black. Id have loved a MK1 Astra GTE but back in the day when they were kicking about my head was in other things so it's a box in life that just never got ticked.

From the age of 17, I got myself a mk2 fiesta popular +. From then on had the full range (xr2i, xr2, rs, zetec s, ect) Which has lead me to what I have now which is a ST3 focus. Absolutely love my ford's

The car that made me a petrol head was a Sierra Cosworth. Still my all time favourite car and I was lucky to own 2 of them. I now own 2 focus ST’s and for me they are a modern cosworth. They will never make cars like these again. A certain future classic that will appreciate in value.

XR2i turned me into a petrolhead. Had to have one. Got one at 20 in 2004. Loved it. Ford obviously. Same year the focus st MK2 came out. Couldn't afford one. I ordered the launch brochure from ford at the time. Finally got an orange facelift one last year. Few mods: intercooler, De res, stage 1 map. Third car in the house. We have an Smax and a berlingo as daily drivers. 🤣

My dad's car turned me into a petrol head. It was a 5 pot 2.0Litre Audi 90. It made the same beautiful deep bellow sound, in any gear.. At only 115bhp in the early 80's it was quite fast & by god do I miss it. The ST is the closest thing to get me back to that car. Love the sound...

Wanted a Mk3 3.5yrs ago but but bought a MK2 just to see what the fuss was about, fast fwd to 2022 and I can't bring myself to part with it. No reason to keep it now due to having other cars but on the rare occasions I bring it out to play; it's instant smiles. Once a few more have given in to the scrappies these will be saught after (not mine though #ragged).

The mk2 is still the love of my life. My heart broke when my older brother sold his and I still want one for myself and mark my words I'm going to buy it. It's a big bodied, spacious car. Never seen a hatch with a boot so large. And the design of the car is absolutely perfect especially the facelift

Sometimes it's not always about power. I loved my mg zs 180 for sheer driving fun. The mitsubishi fto was the car for me that turned me into a petrol head from the good old gran turismo days

Currently 18 with an 03 St170 in Europe SVT focus here in the states, creeping up on 200k miles hoping it lasts long enough for a Turbo rebuild in the future while keeping the VVT. had the car for past 2 years trying to prolong it on signature series Amsoil & occasion spirited RPM

M140i the car I love, I should get one next year. However, I’m getting a Ford st mk2 until next year becuase I can’t afford an m140i. I’ve got an e46 320d m sport atm which is stage one at 210hp and ofcourse diesel torque. However a 5 pot st at around 280hp stage one is going to be mental. Can’t wait

For me it was an ep3 type r. I saw one fly past me when I was driving my first car, micra 1.0 and I said I want one! And I got one and didn’t look back, loved it and loved my journey since. Here I am, 36 year old dad to a 5 year old and someone has just wrote off my fn2 type r and I’m looking for a focus st2 to continue my journey with because……… I just can’t grow out of hot hatches apart from a 5 year blip in an evo 8

Now being classed as an older fart at 47, it was always the Mk2 Escort RS2000, and whenI was old enough to get my own set of wheels and I may be roasted for this but it was the Mk2 Cavalier SRi hatch, I have to agree with you on the driving experience in the MK2 St, it is such a great all rounder, and I have owned Big powerful Mercs, Nissan 300zx tt’s BMW’s Calibra’s and even a few 309gti’s back in the day and the FocusST225 is one of those cars that you should drive at least once, and when you have you’ll get it I’ve had mine for 3 years and I have never regretted trading in my Mercedes’ CLK320 aventguardé in for it

@@ScottishCarClan cheers bud, as far as I know it’s standard power, the only thing that I have done to it is fit the mongoose section 59 from the turbo back through a 200cell cat and a pipercross performance panel filter on it

I own a Volvo V50 T5. Same engine, sime drive feel. Turned me into a petrol head instantly. Not everybody knows but it is a Volvo engine in the ST and RS mark II. Good enough engine, but beware of cracked liners

Ive owned my orange st3 for a year now and Ive completley fallen in love with it. 167k miles w/ block mod and its been a dream to own. Me and my wife have used it as a family wagon and Im really happy with its all round capability. Favourite thing is the tonnes of tourque that 5 pot produces! Feels like a mini muscle car and with few mods can keep up with the RS focus ! Fuel economy is disgusting at 16/17mpg avrg but hey its worth it 😂😂🤷‍♂️

Mine used to be the same MPG. I got it remapped (bigger injectors and more power) and I gained around 8mpg. Win win . You should look into this..

For me, my favourite ford I drove was the fiesta turbo. The mk2 rs turbo was good but the fiesta made me do things I didn't want to do lol.

Hello! I have a problem, and would like to ask you experts on the St 225. Mine is a 2007 that has a problem as it goes uneven ( vibrates ) under acceleration. I have a new engine but problem was before engine swap. Also I have changed both front link arms ( twice as we thougt that was the problem ) If anyone has any clue what it can be, please write answer to me! Cheers !

@@ScottishCarClan I see, I will talk to my mecanic about it. The problem is not so much in 6:th gear on highway accerations but more in town 2,3,4 and 5th gear its the most problem, you still think the same? King regards for any good ideas =)

I remember as a kid watching McRae blasting the Scooby about the dirt. Fell in love, was obsessed with the GC8 on Gran Turismo 1. My Dad took me to Crail and I finally saw and heard them in the flesh. I've owned two since! The Impreza STi, the Honda NSX, The Evo and the Skyline have always been the coolest cars on the planet for me.
