Will, Hello from the U.S.! Avid outdoorsman and camper with a suggestion. For your heat, have you thought about a small Catalytic propane heater? They are usable indoors, and in confined spaces. They use a 1 pound propane tank and produce excellent heat, and only require a 7.5 Cm fresh air opening. A company called Mr Heater makes one perfect for your Ford. Just a suggestion to check in to. Cheers!

@@WillsWhereabouts just saw your video on contemplating getting a bit bigger vehicle. We have the Ford Transit van in South Africa which you should try and look at. Will, great video! It really helps when we can we can see the nitty-gritty how how you are set up. I was definitely one of those people who were “mental” about you cooking on your bed. :) The baking sheet under the burner is a good idea BUT after watching this video 3 times over I’m going to make a suggestion that will make your life easier... take a piece of plywood the size of your single bed and put it under the mattress. If you are so inclined attach hinges to the side closest to the driver side wall) When it’s time to cook lift the edge closest to the walkway and bungee cord it up to the handle bar above the bed (door). The planks under the bed looks solid and flat enough to use as a kitchen/ cooking surface. It will give you more space to work on, if you boil over it won’t soak your bed and will lower your chances of setting you bed on fire. Love your videos brother! Keep em coming! Andrew ( one of the 1.9% from Canada)
@WillsWhereabouts3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew haha sorry to scare you with my cooking methods in the car. It’s not ideal or the safest but your suggestion is great abs something I’ll have to try. Thanks for being part of that 1.9% Canada is the country I should be living in now but Covid had other ideas

KZbin fed me your Fiat bed build, which I enjoyed. Looked up Ducato; realized it is what I recognize as Ram Promaster (USA). When you talked about your previous rig being a Ford Galaxy, I was impressed. Imagine my disappointment when I sought out the Galaxy video, and discovered it too is a van (UK), and not the 4-door, ugly sedan that I recall (USA, circa 1980). I was wondering how you could manage sleeping in the back seat. Anyway, you're a lot of fun, and I need all the distractions I can scrounge up on KZbin to keep me from slitting my wrist every time another Drumpf story hits the news. I subscribed. Good luck.

For staying warm, have you tried a Mr Heater Buddy or smaller propane heater that you can run for a short time before bed & when you get up? Some have a sensor that shuts them down if there's low oxygen. A lot of campers use them here in the states. There pretty inexpensive.

Depending on the efficiency of the split charger, a 110Ah leisure battery will go from flat to almost fully charged during a couple of hours normal driving. In terms of charging a laptop from the leisure battery, let's just say many many times.

Brilliant video Will. I think the window cleaner/dryer was the best bit of kit so far. Now you’ve got the big powerbank you could potentially run a 150watt mini fan heater off that, they are designed for small spaces. Yea a Diesel heater maybe taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Most of all, keep safe Will. Rrrrrrrrooooooogggggg. 😀💫
@compostcorner59343 жыл бұрын
Great set up will, as you say all you need now is the diesel heater for next winter, as I'm hoping now we will be going into decent weather from here on in. My Astra van is basically a double bed, the whole width of the van directly on the floor (No raised frame) and I use cargo nets for storage, works OK though tbf 😊👌
