Ford Lightning(s) vs Ram Srt10 1/4 Mile Racing

Considering both the srt10 and lighting specs, this is a close race. The srt10 is 8.3L of naturally aspirated displacement, the ford is 5.4L engine with 2.93L supercharger equaling up to 8.3L of overall displacement. Lightning curb weight is 330 lbs lighter than the ram. I like both trucks and both make a good platform to build off of.

you don't add displacement like that, LOL displacement is only calculated in the combustion chambers within the cylinder walls. There is no fuel and gas combustion in a supercharger. A supercharger just forces air into the intake. Who told you that BS ?

its a diesel. if you look it shows black smoke coming out the exhaust. also most diesels launch in 4x4. ridiculous amounts of torque. the duramax is also nowhere near stock running a 12 in the 1/4.

Very impressive, that's why I like the diesel trucks, they can produce a ton of torque. I've got a F450 that will run a 14 second 1/4 and it weighs over 12K lbs. It's tuned and deleted, easy to get a lot of horsepower out of the diesel engines.

+Blake Watson 14 seconds is beyond impressive. I have a k2500 suburban with a 454 vortec. its "quick" but not near 14 in a 1/4. I'm debating on a newer burb with the 8.1 or an excursion with a powerstoke. suburban gets 8mpg the power stroke would get 20 if tuned. good thing gas is $1.39

My dad has owned dodge, ford, and Chevy, I can say from personal experience the Dodge just totally outmatches the fords and the Chevys. My dad has a stock srt-10 and my cousin has a special built race engine in his lightening with a kennebell supercharger and it just barely beats it. Dodge has had the fastest vehicles since muscle cars have been made I mean do your factory research I HAVE. And until now dodge has never made a factory supercharged vehicle. Why do you think hemi is a big used motor in drag racing and the king of NASCAR drove a dodge haha. All you "fanboys" who haven't owned other vehicles and don't have the experience are close minded and down right stupid. We've owned a lightening and stock that srt-10 will smoke that thing. I've also been in the 392 challenger we have and smoke gt500, and sscamaro, I've spanked gt mustangs in my Daytona.

it all depends what kind of miles. a car with 200,000 mostly highway miles and has been taken care of oil changes etc is better than a 50,000 mile car that has been driven hard and no oil changes etc. Plus most motors are rebuildable. Lightnings are very collectible and hold value and are good investment.
