Ford Maverick in Late Season Snow Part 3

Do you own or want to buy a Ford Maverick? If, so which engine and trim?

Hey man, I have a couple questions. I really want this truck, the hybrid to be specific. However, my parents won't let go of the fact that it's not AWD. I live in Colorado and I basically drive 95 percent highway and 5 percent dirt road to my family farm. Should I do Eco or Hybird? They are convinced that the FWD is not enough for the snow. I really want the fuel economy though.

@Aagggyy Great name! The 2025 model solves your dilemna! The Mav hybrid is now available in AWD. If you buy a used turbo version AWD, you will still get up to 30 MPG hwy. For the snow, AWD let's you drive past chain control. Plus, I have seen lots of front wheel drive vehicles not make it up an icy road as I drove past them with my AWD. There is nothing more miserable than getting out in a snowstorm to put chains on to get up the last 500 ft of a road.

@fordmaverickmaniac I have to say, thanks for the fast response. I am the only one in the family who doesn't appreciate trucks. However, this is the first truck that I would love to get. Never liked trucks for their fuel economy and the way they drive with the Maverick being the excpetion. Seems like my options are to wait for the 2025 or go for a used 2022-2023 eco boost with AWD....or get an SUV in case things don't work out.

@fordmaverickmaniac Hey man, so I decided to go with the AWD Maverick lariat 2024. Despite my limited credit history, my credit union pulled through!! I got the truck and I LOVE it. The blue interior with bronze /brown drawer covers. This is a lariat so more off roading. Even my skeptical father loved it and was jealous. Thanks for your input.

That looks like a revolver tonneau, how does it deal with the snow? We are thinking of ordering one, but also live in a place that has winter and heard it can be temperamental in the show/ice/

Yes Lauren, it is a BAK X4s revolving hard cover. I like that when open, it does not block the rear window. The issue is if it is wet from rain or dew and the temp drops, or its snowing with a lot of moisture content, the BAK freezes. It is usually still possible to open, unless the temp is in single digits. But even then I get into the bed by opening the tailgate. Hope this helps and welcome! Ask any questions on my videos.

@@fordmaverickmaniac oh nice. I’ll check that out. I’m looking at possibly trading my Impreza for a Maverick. I’d just go with the base but I don’t really like the silver wheels.
