How does your Maverick handle in the rain?

My 2023 Maverick handled like crap in the rain until I got rid of the crap continental tires. They used to hydroplane like crazy, even at low speeds. I chose a set of Ironmans now it handles like a dream and the ride is a lot better too.

I ordered a 2023 hybrid XLT, CP360, hitch, slider on opening day. It got rolled over to a 2024, all same except I decided against the rear slider. Actually Ford decided for me as it's no longer an option. I got notice of a build date, and then another email that it got pushed to week of Nov 20. I was surprised to see that it was "in production" a few days ahead of schedule. No window sticker yet. I'm in Texas so I'm thinking it'll be riding the train in time for the holidays. All of you waiting for yours--hang in there as I'm sure you'll be pleased with it. I've had my 2022 XL hybrid for 2yrs and 33,000 mi and am very happy with it. Easy to drive, and it parks anywhere. 40+ mpg.

Hi again Gary. Cruise control on your new XLT build will help on long trips. And yes the wait is long but worth it! Post some videos when you get your 2024, I will sub!

Nice to see you driving the hybrid Maverick. I see just a bit over 7,000 miles on her.. I just crossed 12,000 in my 22 XLT Hybrid today .. the farthest one way and done it several times is to Jefferson City Missouri, around 3 hours one way. I kid you not.. averaging 46 mpg over the last 12 months owned now..

Hi Denny, yes the hybrid is great, averaging +10 mpg combined vs my 2.0 version. But the turbo AWD is more capable in mud & snow and much more fun to drive. Hwy mpg is not much different so I recommend getting 1 of each version over time. Spread the miles they will last twice as long.

Got a build date for my 2024 hybrid (middle of January). This after a no build for 2023. Hoping for a February delivery. I've not been hearing rave reviews for the factory Continental tires, but we'll see. The factory tires might pass ok, here in Wisconsin as my FWD Escape hasn't had any problems using similar tires. Thanks for this video; I've been a bit confused about that power meter, but you've made it more clear. 😎👍

Your Mav is getting closer! FWD with the Contis won't be too good on steep icy inclines. However, on my Mav Turbo AWD in Park City, I never had to put chains on them even with the huge snow year last winter. My video series from then, AWD in PC, shows the Contis in action. Nice job. You may have stated the mode you were using but I missed it. Can I assume you were in slippery mode?

No just normal driving mode. If I felt some slip, I would have changed over. The Mav FWD handled great in heavy rain Linae.

Still waiting on my 2024 to get a build date. I don’t mind the wait so long as I can keep my 2005 canyon limping along. 😅

I remember how hard the wait was. When my Mav got delivered, I was so excited I forgot to test drive before buying it. In the meantime, I hope my videos help you Hero.
