Adding mud flaps to the Ford Maverick can look really nice but beware of this one issue as if you aren't careful it could mess up your paint!

PPF works as well. Easy and cheap, no gap.

I'll be getting my mav in a few weeks, same mudd flaps, i was thinking, maybe adding a strip of foam too the flap it self . Maybe that'll do the trick along with trimming that lip off , glad i saw this vid

I have the Muslogy mud flaps on my 24 maverick xlt, they include ppf for the area where the mudflaps meet the paint and 1/8 inch foam for the flaps to avoid this problem. Thankfully the muslogy flaps dont have that lip the Ford version has, they lay flat.

Notice it says it is a "full size spare" not a full size tire! My eighth grade English teacher would be proud of them!

Also, I put my flaps on all my vehicles with black silicone with Jack as a rubber seal protecting movement. Anyways, it does well.

you could put some weather stripping between the gap if you wanted to cover the gap

Great video! I did the same on my mud flaps. 🤙 Do you still have the Scorpion all season tires ? How are they performing in Snow ?

I’ve moved to Destination AT2 tires, see my other video for info.

I would imagine dirt getting in behind it would do the same, wrecking the paint but also holding the water creating rust. Can anyone confirm this?
