Great video. I went with the Husky brand which came with both front and rear mud flaps which installed very easily. They have a much wider area of protection which provides excellent protection for the lower body of my 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 with factory air suspension.

Mud flaps are a must if you want to protect against road blast, particularly in the winter with the salt rocks and dirt kicking up at your vehicle with the slush. However you gotta have mud flaps that will still be slightly soft when you bend them because the cold air could make them stiff and when you drive over and back up over large piles of heavy snow, the snow could rip them off. This would be more prevalent with lower clearance vehicles but I could see it happening with trucks too.

Im a mudflap fan....keeps the fenders cleaner and helps keep the small rocks from flying up and cracking windshields. On lifted vechiles and oversized tires where I used to live it was required. I like the Husky design but the Weather Tech fit. Good video and thanks

I used Husky on my last two Tacoma's. The 4x4 TRD OR Tacoma I did some gnarly offroading and I never experienced a tear or a damaged flap. They held up well, and I didn't have rocks from my gravel drive way knocking paint off the bottom of my doors. Ordering a set for our 2012 Super Duty for the same reason. Dang rocks lol

In a winter environments something is required to minimize the road grime, chemical and glacier build up behind the wheels. I prefer the "splash guard" style. a shorter 3 " box type structure that is stronger, looks good or less ugly and prevents 3/4's of the build up. What does attach falls off when you close a door or give it a light kick.

I installed the Husky guards on the front & rear of my 2020 F250 super duty XL when I bought the truck new. I’m pleased with how the front set keeps the crud off of my factory running boards. The rears do a fair job keeping the mess off of my truck, but the front of my dump trailer still gets hit with what the mud guards can’t quite catch. Overall, I’m very pleased after close to 3 yrs of use.

Before taking off my mudflaps to allow bigger tires, I had a frame that was in decent shape. However two years after I notice a bunch of surface rust. I could be wrong but I contribute that from all the road salt and water that blasted the undercarriage from a few winters because I removed the flaps

That seems pretty convincing. Surface rust is no big deal though. Knock it off with a wire brush and coat the frame and you should be fine.

Not having mud flaps pit and scratch your truck. Real problem if you spend time on gravel roads and or road construction with loose material. I went with the weathertechs, they provided the longer bolts and such, mounted up nice and secure. I personally like the look better on the weathertechs. Not a real fan of the looks of mud flaps necessarily, but like the protection that they provide.

I live down 3 miles of poorly maintained dirt/clay road. 2.5 miles of it is a cow farm. Came home today in a light rain and not only is the whole side of the truck covered in mud (dirt, clay and cow droppings) but the retractable floor boards are caked. It truly looks like I've been doing some extreme off-road riding. I'm hoping mud flaps will control some of the mess. It looks like some of it was from the rear tire throwing mud forward. Not sure. But I'll give the husky's a try and see what happens. Thanks for the video instructions and the comparison.

I hate mud flaps for winter. All the snow and ice build up that I get in the wheel wells sucks. But, summer time they are great they keep the spray from the rain down so I don't blind the vehicle behind me. Here in Michigan we don't have to have mud flaps. My buddy who is stationed in Alaska says by law they are forced to have them on their vehicles year round.

I like the Weathertech ones better. I'm not a fan of the double sided tape on the Husky. My Weathertechs were very easy to install front and rear and they also came with some hardware with longer screws. I also think they fit the body of the truck better. My truck is a 2019.
@MYTOYMAKERZ4 жыл бұрын
The 2 sided tape is mainly to hold the flap in place during installation the provided clips actually help hold the flap in place along with the tape. I own both brands and I like both one set on my GMC Canyon the other on my Ram pickup. The look actually depends on the truck they are installed on for fit and actually the look itself. In other words the huskies I think look better on my ram than my GMC and other way around.

Ontario and travel very little on gravel roads but the little that I do I can hear the rocks hitting the metal on my 20 f150 xlt with stock tires. Because of this I'm looking for better coverage. On a previous 16 Ram I had Gator Back$ that were nice but the black powder coating $tarted to blast off after a couple of year$. What I'm thinking of now is the Husky Long Johns. Since they are all plastic I may mod them with a metal plate to prevent curling. I hope that works out since I will eventually get more aggressive tires.
