Great vid James, always cool to see the brotherly love lol! Would have been interesting to throw an amp clamp on the feed wire to the injectors and see if the current for #1 was dropping off before you had a complete open ckt and a hard misfire. Might save some time test driving and getting it to act up...intermittent problems never show up when you want them to in the shop haha

I'm upset to find out that before I had taken my car into the shop yesterday I had taken off the intake and swapped coils and plugs from cylinder 2 to 4 and put it all back together just to still get misfire on 2. And to watch this video and see that I was only a couple clips and 4 bolts away on pulling the fuel rail off, and saving myself $350 dollars in labor by replacing the one bad injector myself. I'm not too nechanicly inclined but I've been in my engine bay enough, just never messed with the fuel rail because of lack of confidence but I appreciate this upload. Moving forward I will be doing the next injector failure myself.

Its a good video. Main point I gleaned from this is the impossibility of diagnosing an electrical code when it isn't reoccurring. I like that you said, you offered the customer to change the injector but he declined since you couldn't pinpoint it. Would have saved you some time and maybe him some diag fee's if he would have taken the risk and allowed the shotgun approach.

Hi James! Thanks for the video! I have replaced fuel injectors of my Fusion 3.0L V6 twice, and both times the pressure regulator of the fuel pump throttle has failed, causing long starts when the engine is warm. Do you have any idea what could have happened to the pressure regulator to fail? Is there a secret trick to depressurizing the fuel line or re-pressurizing it before starting the engine?

So my 2010 Ford Fusion is throwing the same codes - P0301 and P0201. I have already replaced all the spark plugs, coils, and fuel injectors and the problem is still there. On my 01 Caravan 3.3 the 8 volt ref measured at the PCM should also b 8 volts at cam and crank sensor. Correct? There is nothing between PCM and sensor to lower voltage to 5 volts is there?

I was wondering if you could help me out in diagnosting a intermitent issue. There is this 2009 Mercury Sable that keeps poping a P0204 injector code together with misfire on that cylinder and system lean code but only on a hot engine or after a restart. When the engine is cold it works fine but it starts running rough and popping the codes when it gets hot. I replaced the injector I clean the fuel rail because there were some deposits from the fuel which I thought it might clog the injector but replaced anyways since I had the whole thing out. It does the same thing. I checked the electrical connectors and they seem fine, no corrosion. I don't know what else to look at and I don't have a fancy scanner to get more info on what might go wrong after the engine gets hot. Any ideas? Thanks
