You guys were completely in the ZEN. Driving a Model A on a beautiful scenic drive with your partner in crime and meet up with your extended Model A family. Not much more to add other then a prime rib dinner. Glad you had a safe trip!

The country was beyond magnificent. The biggest take away for me was the absolute confidence this trip showed that you have in your Model A. The video shows mile after mile after mile of empty country. You were in the middle of nowhere for most of the trip. Probably no cell service most of the way. Wow! I am so impressed. Thank you for taking us along.
@ModelA6 ай бұрын
Absolutely! No cell service for many miles. Peace and quiet! A well sorted Model A is rock-solid reliable. Drive it anywhere, no fear.

Sometimes I hop in my Mustang and go for what I call my serenity drives...I never turn on the radio..all I want to hear is the car purring along. Lots of pretty drives here in Colorado too. Thanks for posting. Take care you two.

That was a nice scenic drive through the mountains to Lake Tahoe and Virginia City. When I was young my dad had a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle that had only about 40 horsepower, which is same as the Model A Ford. I can remember traveling with him up to Grand Canyon National Park in the Volkswagen. As the road started to get steep he had to downshift from 4th to 3d gear. Then road got even more steep and the car slowed down to where my father downshifted to second gear. In a car with low horsepower this makes for a more enjoyable, slower and relaxing ride. In the mountains I am sure the Mitchell Overdrive is useful, because it results in 6 speeds forward instead of 3 speeds forward. This gives a better range of gears for the slope of the road going uphill and downhill.
@ModelA6 ай бұрын
VW is a lighter car, but a Model A has a lot more torque, even though still 40 HP, so probably pretty similar!

Hi, thanks for taking us along for the ride!! Such beautiful scenery, and excellent camera work by Model T!! Your car runs so well, what a pleasure it must be to drive!! I'm pulling the leaky radiator out of my 29 phaeton, can't wait to have it back together ,and get it on the road!! ( Drive it like I know how to fix it!!) Thanks again!!

Thanks to you and Tina for that most beautiful drive .I was amazed how the carb wasn't at all compromised by the pretty severe changes in elevation . Proves EFI not really needed after all!! Henry made it right.!
@ModelA6 ай бұрын
Didn't even touch the carb once from sea level to 8,400 feet ASL. I could lean it out if it started to surge. But it behaves. My tudor was the same way last year and the year before on the same trip.

Now that’s a good drive, noticed that you would pull over them newer and faster motor cars. I’m sure they appreciated that. We haven’t seen Bob (Dad) lately hopefully he’s doing well. Thanks for the ride along, KY Ken.

Very gratifying, I ain’t been in a Model A since my Dad & Uncle Jim took the “family sedan” to town to get a tire repaired for Dads JD A , Every time I went “up home” I’d pull the driveway and look at the plate on the model A = 1953

@@ModelA I didn’t know there were more than “2 & 4 door sedans. I reckon when it comes down to it, all I recall was I shared the back seat with a 5:50-16 tire & rim assembly. I’m pals with a long time friend who has a 25 T open (two seats) 76,000 miles and barn stored till he got it home. Nice ride & drives great (once I got the hang of the 3 pedals) , now that my interest is peaked, I’ll be studying on the different body styles , thanks for a great video Paul

I forgot, the 2 dr sedan I rode in ,Dad also drove to High School in 1943, he spoke of keeping the brakes adjusted so it would stop “square” it had a gas heater in it too, sure wish I’d of made more effort to obtain it after Dads demise and the auction to dispose of his things.
