Ford mondeo mk4 single mass flywheel

Obviously resonance from crank end to gearbox... Shame this was so long ago cos I'd ;love to know which conversion kit this was.

Did you change to the correct clutch plate too (one with the springs)? or just installed smf on non-dampened clutch plate of dmf setup?

I bought a brand new kit of ebay, clutch pressure plate was also included

@Alfa Okrepcevalnica i've got Valeo 4P on audi A3 PD 2.0TDI BKD engine and it does make the same sound also has really early biting point too other than that drives normally and i think now it feels like i've got more torque from the engine as well.. will see how that will be in the long run so far all good.

Danny Hone hi this cars comes with dual mass flywheel, i put single mass flywheel thats why i had that noise, so ended up with putting in dual mass flywheel and no noise.

Was the noise only reason to going back to dual mass flywheel? How was driving with single mass flywheel? Did it had bad vibrations?

t982678249 yes was the only reason to go back to dual mass flywheel, while driving no noise only in neutral noise.

Same problem I have got on mine no vibration just the the noise on my Mondeo. I think might have to put in a dual mass flywheel.

Hi mate quick question would it have been dangerous driving with a noisy new single mass flywheel. What I mean to say is will it suddenly disintegrate or something or is it just NOISY.. I think mine has the exact same problem, went for a SMF conversion and has the same noise which goes away in clutch depression

Hi mate, dual mass fly wheel is just for smoother clutch and to reduce diesel engine vibrations. With a smf u heve more vibration going from engine to gearbox, i don't know if it alright, but for me didn't sound good thats why i bought dual mass flywheel and sound disappeared. 😊
