How to reset your oil change required message if your steering wheel function buttons do not work.
An oil change/service should be carried out before resetting the service indicator if you are following the vehicles service schedule

The warning message comes on because the oil is diluted with fuel thereby reducing its viscosity,just resetting it without changing the oil risks damaging your engine

no, the 1.6 is noticeably underpowered and i have heard many head gasket stories on either the 1.5 or 1.6...not sure but the 2litre may have crap parts bolted to the engine but the engine and the gasket are very strong

This does not work on Mondeo sold in Australia. It looks the same as the UK model. With both pedals pushed down for 30 seconds, the display is static, it does not cycle through warnings. Then next time I start engine, the oil life warning is still there!

you can still use the switches on your steering wheel to reset the oil change interval...go to settings and oil life reset..hold the ok button down until the reset is complete

yes it is.. on the mk4 there will also be a message in the display saying resetting and reset but i am not sure if it works for the models with the push button start

no it won't they are tricky and includes using the rear fog lamp switch

@@alan4x I know. When I serviced mine (2.2 same engine as the Ford) it's a right fingers n thumbs job. You have to do it in sequence and with seconds or it does not reset. Nonsense really. Great video Alan.

This method wouldn’t work with the push button start version of the mondo as the engine would start with the foot on the brake pedal

It works. Turn ignition on first then brake and accelerator pedal. It won't crank and start this way.
