Kind expected 200 Mbars and a blocked vaporiz er. Typical ford 2.0 TDCI engine faults. My mondeo 2013 had the same. Dinages ford dealership was stumped when I suggested it was a blocked fuel Vaporizer for the DPF. But they checked it, replaced and it worked flawlessly. Even the principle technician said he'd never heard of this fault/ Occurrence before. I said 'maybe you should check out KZbin for O'Rileys Autos various DPF videos.

What I don’t understand, is why do garages insist on static regens? A method like this by pumping in the DPF cleaning fluid, is the most effective solution. And it’s easy 👍

Just out of interest, would you be able to do a demo of a dpf self regen after you have fixed a fault. Vs one with your clean? Be interested to see how the car responds naturally to a repair, looking at the live data etc

Just a quick question Jimmy. Do you ever check the condition or service history of cam belts (if fitted) before you do a DPF clean and who would be liable if the belt did fail? I know that when I was MOT testing I refused to test several diesels because of low engine oil levels or belt condition.

I have bought a 2014 transit custom mid roof 2.2. I paid our mobile mechanic 40 to scan and give any advice. It was on 121k, bit of low vibration sometimes, he says its the dmf, but use it till it gets worse. No faults found on scan, 76% soot in dpf. Parts widely available and usually for reasonable money.

I have also bought the Launch uk cleaning kit, just short of a scan tool or laptop with Forscan. Our family has some experience with the vaporizer... when we didn't know, my daughter had oil dilution etc etc etc, and had it done at an independent garage with ford equipment... my youngest son bought an Ebay vaporizer and I got the old one out with impact wrench and extension. No problem since.

A DPF is a form of smoke & mirrors to address urban air pollution. It collects soot in town but burns it off once you’re out in the countryside 😬

@@hughmarcus1 I know that, but when it all goes tits up then you need to go through all this rigmarole to cure the blockages which is usually done in an urban area thus defeating the object, this plus the fact that air does tend to move about so air in urbanisation moves to the countryside and the countryside air moves to towns etc plus the fact that not all vehicles travel out of many towns, so like I said "a load of unnecessary bullshit of a system" 👎🤬🤬

STOP resetting dpf values. It’s completely unnecessary and causing issues you don’t realise. Replace the vaporiser, carry out a static regen (so the values remain accurate) and send the customer on their way. You have absolutely no need to reset dpf values. By resetting them, you are not only resetting the soot values but also the ash values. From now on, all ash in the dpf will be considered soot. The vehicle will regenerate much longer and more frequent than necessary as it can not regenerate ash. Repair the fault. Carry out a regen. Done! That’s it.

Sorry ill choose to avoid your advice. Static regeneration especially on a +200% blocked DPF will likely cause damage to the DPF itself or the car. Resetting the values the car will learn again very shortly where it's at

@@ORileysAutos you’re welcome to ignore/take any advice you like, but I’d suggest believing that you know it all and there is no one out there that could teach you something new is perhaps not the best attitude. As I explained, resetting the values not only resets the soot calculations. It also resets the ash calculation. This can not be relearned. You’ve told the vehicle a new dpf has been fitted with ZERO ash in it. It only has a pressure sensor, so has absolutely no way of determining how much pressure is caused by soot and how much is ash. Regenerating a dpf over 200% is perfectly fine. Ford have a limit of 300% on most older vehicles and newer vehicles such as the connect with the 1.5litre can be regenerated perfectly safely with no limit whatsoever
