This Ford Ranger PX is the second Ford Ranger featured on modified to date and setup very different than the one in episode 9. Dylans Ranger has a unique custom tray as he continually makes improvements as he thinks of new ways and additions each time he ventures out for camping and adventure.

That tray looks really good. It's the same width as the body and that makes it look like it was designed to be there, rather than the bright aluminum ones that stick out a few inches and look a bit commercial

Jimmy awe maaaan. I picked one up. It’s absolutely insane. The front has zero flex off-road. But when you do definitely buy it with the Ford Fox leveling coil overs and the new motor calibration. I didn’t know they had that stuff when I purchased it. It gives it V8 power and it’s torque as it is, is crazy. Still wish I got a Jeep instead lol. Someday. But i like it. FX4, STX version. Didn’t want touch screen.

I was wondering what the issue was with Rangers & water. A while back now I responded to a call for help from a Ranger owner that was stuck in a large mud hole. She had the vehicle set up nice with lift, bar etc but no winch & no snorkel. Turns out she had drowned the motor and got stuck mid way through the hole. Her vehicle was higher than mine and Ive made it through the same hole many times with no snorkel so I figured there must be an issue with the intake.

what engine did it have? here in the us we have the 2.3 4cyl, old ones like my 88 had a 2.8 or my favorite, 2.9l v6, newer ones got the 3.0v6 and some have the 4.0 ohv or the 4.0sohc. im a fan of the 2.9l and the 4.0 ohv. I'm a ranger nut through and through. love the first gen 83-89 body style, but i'll build any ranger i can get my hands on. latest project is a 2001 stx 2wd, long travel kit up front with 2.5 inch lift, 3 inch leafs in the rear, but all that will get stripped soon for a tube frame rear with coilovers and cantilever suspension. its gonna be a short course truck or "pre-runner" as some people call them. I just have a thing for rangers. you can build them into anything, they're tough and fairly cheap here in the us

Ford Ranger have been listed on the Dog and Lemon guide because of all the issues they are having here in NZ. Sensors malfunctioning to complete engine melt downs. Sold mine after Ford couldn't work out the issues with it.

Yep, my mate has a BT50 (same motor) been repaired 3 times after blowing 3 times.. all done under warranty.

Robert Hull unless you extend the bump stop, using a spacer,at full compression, the shock takes the full force of compression, instead of hitting the bump stop. On the us spec Toyota tundras shock bodies have collapsed running spacers.

isnt coils at the back better. they have superior off road performance and ride comfort over leafs and if you have a heavy load you can get hd coils

It just amplifies how much throttle signal is sent to the Engine. So say for example ,when you push the throttle down %10 you get %25 , depending on the setting you are using. You get no additional power, just a better throttle response.

Just a note to the vehicle owner: You mentioned that you rarely use the maxtrax, and then in one of the top trip pictures i noticed that the front tires were balanced on rocks to level the truck; even if you don't use the trax for recovery, they are useful as an easy way to level a truck.

Been waiting for a Ford Ranger vid. A friend helped develop them at Ford Future Development and he totally rates them, (The AUTO only, never buy the manual) has worked at Ford for 20 years, this is the first Ford he has ever owned. He also owns a Toyota 100 Series 4.2TD fully set up, and says his Ford Ranger tows better!!! Shame they don't seem real good on sand though (from our testing) Just returned from Thailand, the home of the Ranger, you can buy a Wild Track for $32,000 AUD there :( In fact, i did s21.postimg.org/9tapub3rb/IMG_20161016_085821.jpg I think the tray back is the perfect Ford Ranger set up.

Hugh Jazz the auto is a worse gear box lad iv replaced to many of them And the 3.2 is a terrible engine we have replaced 4 in the last couple months and done so many more injectors and other shit on them

Oh really, that terrible. The one i purchased in Thailand is a 2016 2.2ltr Auto. My mate that worked on the Ford Ranger here in OZ and in Thailand, honestly can't say enough good things about his, and he has no reason too. He just said, never get a manual. (The mines had Manuals, heaps of Gearbox fails and they went back to the HiLux) 4 Engines in 3 months???
