Ford Ranger Rear Seat Delete !

Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel ! In today’s video I am showing you how to remove the rear seat in the 2019/2020 Ford Ranger so you can get more space for traveling.

Look at getting these parts, it will help with the delete. Though you will need to cut a hole in the panel for the speaker. You would also need to take out the seat back brackets. KB3Z-2140374-AA (1) KB3Z-21466A16-AA (1) W716515-S300 (4) These parts come standard on XLs with the Seat Delete option on the Super Cab. Not sure it would look good on the Lariat, but I did it on my XLT Supercab and it is great.

thanks for the video. I will be going from an f150 crew cab to a ranger crew. f150 back seat is cavernous and we have 2 dogs that roam there. How much space do you think you gained front to back? Looks like quite a bit. Not sure if goose gear has a ranger rear deck set up. Not sure if its worth a $1000 but they make them for toyota and chevy.

I think that unless they change the rear seat design it will be too small for two dogs. I built a wood deck in mine, barely room for the Lab. F150 waaaaay better. (But expensive ! )

Looks good man. I’m doing the same thing with my ranger. I’m planning on building a a box out of ply wood to fit back there. I am running into an issue with the seat belt system. The issue is when I unplug the sensor plugs I get an indicator light. If you have removed the seat belts, how did you solve this problem?

Same here. So far my only dislike about the Ranger is the back seats. I wish someone would create a rear seat delete kit like they have for Tacoma’s!

I believe the seatbelt bolts are torque to yield so they will have to be replaced every time they are removed.

I have the same truck and took out my seat, I am about build my own storage unit but I would rather buy something for it. Do you know of anything I can? If not, ill just build something.

Shouldn’t removing 100-200 lbs be so little that any factor of safety designed into the truck would make it foolish? Assuming this isn’t a DOT/commercial question but a private owner questioning if the can slightly overload their vehicle.

@@Stew-rl9qk the primary motivation for doing this would be above all else to gain more usable space behind the driver’s seat. I asked about weight savings only as a possible secondary benefit, but not as a serious concern about payload.

Thanks for the video and I wonder if you can help me....I'm thinking about buying a Ranger but really do need a solution for carrying longer pieces of timber, pipes, conduit and possibly even a small ladder etc. Currently I have a Ford van and whilst its has a much longer bed, there is also a flap that opens up under the passenger seat giving even more length. In the Ranger I was hoping to fold the rear seats down and cut right through to the bed and create way through to carry such items.....from your seat removal experience, do you think this is a workable idea? Thx Adam

No way. You’ll get rain in there and rust your machine out fast, not to mention water in the cabin. Really bad idea. Also for crash safety, it would COMPLETELY INVALIDATE INSURANCE COVERAGE when an adjuster sees that.

Backflip bed cover. Now plenty of storage. Agree better seat would be nice. Seat good for sitting but not cargo.

Yes I will be. Currently on vacation now but when I get back I am doing a rear axle swap / disc brake conversion on the 97 Ranger

How did you reconnect the seatbelt sensors? I thought they were connected to the seat, are they not?

They are separate from the seatbelts. I just tucked them into the back panel.

One day I was thinking, How am I going to get all of these tools in my truck and still get everything in back… my buddy jokingly said take the back seat out. I was like that’s a damn good Idea. I unbolted them and my tool box fit in perfectly with just enough room to close the doors. I never put them back in, there’s so much more useful room.

Rear seats the worst thing about this truck. I didn't remove the seat, but did build a removable deck from planking so my Labrador could get in, and the storage bins (useless) would be covered. A 60/40 rear seat would help immensely. Good truck otherwise, small enough to scoot round town, capable enough for hauling. I'm only going to get another one if they fix the rear seat issue. Otherwise it's back to the F150 2.7.

Goose gear makes plate systems. I contacted them awhile back about if they where working on one for the Ranger. They said they would have to spend some time with one to put something together.

Just curious, has anybody found an aftermarket cover for the under seat storage? I've seen locking covers that are crazy expensive. I just want something cheap so my dog isn't stepping on my tools. I'll be deleting my back seat on my next long hunting trip.

With the stock FX4 suspension it did. With the Fox 2.0 the ride is excellent both on and off road

The sound system sucks I upgraded to a beast sound on mids and highs but the bass sucks there’s no place to build a nice enclosure for a 12” or 2 10” 💩
