Should the negative battery wire get unhooked beforehand?

Should/can you put a bit of lube or something like it on the threads to keep the plug from sticking for future removal?
@Life_Has_Changed2 жыл бұрын
I don't recommend it as the threads on plugs these days have protection, and they don't seize up. Also when you put lube it may cause you to over tighten, and dont over tighten spark plugs, do it to the manufacturers spec, otherwise it could misfire. But you could put dielectric Grease on the plug boot. Hope that helps!

How about using aluminum anti seize compound on the spark plug threads Easier to tale out
@Life_Has_Changed3 жыл бұрын

Got some from part store for my 2007 ford ranger 3.0L v6 . Is that the gap recommendations ? .I got the truck with out owners manual. Pre set gap is @ 0.040 on the first one.
@Life_Has_Changed2 жыл бұрын
0.044 is what we set our plugs to based off the Haynes repair manual. So 0.40 should be good👍

I didn't see you take the intake manifold off 😳 ? Is it necessary in this Ranger 3.0 liter ? Is it pretty easy in your opinion to replace plugs ? What would you say is the most difficult part of this job on this Ranger 3.0 ? Thanks for helping in with this video 'Mijo ' 👍😎
@Life_Has_Changed Жыл бұрын
Hey tonio, taking off the intake manifold isn't necessary on the 3.0. I would say it is fairly easy, but it'll take some time maybe 1 - 2 hours. The hardest part is getting the plugs closest to the firewall. But it is manageable, glad to help amigo!

How long does it take to replace the wires and plugs minus the coil pack
@Life_Has_Changed Жыл бұрын
Hey Josh! To change everything without the coil pack is like 45mins. And, with the coil pack, just extra 5 mins to install. Hope that helps!👌

Is it the same for 96 4.0
@Life_Has_Changed Жыл бұрын
It will be similar however the position of the plugs might be different. The trq spec is 7-15 ft lbs which is a similar range to the 3.0. Hope that helps! 🙏

i have code p0351 meaning ignition cyclinder 1. i was going to do a complete tune up like this. this should fix it right. 06 V6 3.0
@Life_Has_Changed2 жыл бұрын
Yea p0351 usually means electrical issue and that could result in a misfire. Usually changing the spark plugs, or the ignition coil would fix it. But if it doesn't you may have a vacuum leak or the throttle body could be dirty from carbon buildup. Hope that helps!

This doesn’t work on some rangers, diagrams are flipped for some don’t ruin your truck like I did following this for wires
