Ford made a big mistake of going all in on electric. Even though they knew they would lose money the first few years they did it at a time when inflation, the flu shut everything down causing people's incomes to crash which caused the economy to tank.

Absolutely agree with you. I'm not really a Ford guy but I love the design of the original GT40 and the GT, but especially the 2nd gen. It looks much better than 1st gen in 2005, and the 2023 Ford GT MK IV is lacking the sharp body lines and angles of the 2017. It just looks too smooth like a Porsche or Ferrari. The 2017 GT looks like a futuristic spaceship. 🚀👌

The latest Ford GT was/is impressive but, I’d like to see Ford build something like the thumbnail. A conflation of the Mustang and GT that would dominate track and street and priced for the masses. Mid-engine 5.2 SC crossplane, 7 speed transaxle with the suspension/aero of the GTD/GT.

the v10 of the porsche carrera is not a le mans motor, ots an f1. porsche at le mans allways used flat 6 exept the 917, and untill the 919 with a 4 cylinder and now the 963 with a v8. the rs spyder also used a v8 in the 2000

Tell the whole story. Enzo enticed ford to buy Ferrari to drive the price up on Alfa. The Ford GT is a Lola race chassis and was called the gt40 by the press cause it's roof line was 40 inches off the ground. It lost miserably before it won

More information for you. Ford made the GT in 24, but it's a track only version limited to only 67 cars, all making over 800 hp for around 1.7 million. It's called the Ford GT mk4. Ford has stopped production of the GT to make way and room for the new flagship, the mustang GTD. Which Ford claims is better than the GT. The results from its Nürburgring lap have been closely guarded by Ford and will come out in the short film “Road To The Ring” on December 10th. The GTD is the New GT, just with a mustang nameplate.

Even the GT500 cannot compete against real Super Cars cause a mustang from either factory Ford or Shelby does not unleash enough power to be a contender. But Modifications can bring it into respectability in this arena.

Ford never sold a sports car and no, the Mustang doesn't count. They never competed against the corvette. At least Dodge did. A car in between the Mustang and the GT40 never took place.

Actually Chevy Copied off Ford's designs. Nice try. 60s Gt40 is how Chevy came up with the ZO6. Then took some form the 90s Gt90. Just like the last Camaro took Saleens 2015 Mustang design and Copied it. Malibu and Impala 2016 took the Fusions designs from 2012/2013. Chrysler 200 2015 took the Fusion design also. So on. Even the 70s Camaro took the 74 Mustang 2 front designs.
