Thank you for covering this topic. And, you're right, we didn't engineer the Ram-Air Rear Diff Cover because people were blowing up their rear ends. We developed it to extend the life of the ring and pinion gears and pinion bearings. And, we maintain fuel economy. This is in contrast to high-capacity flat-back covers that not only hurt fuel economy but destroy the oil by beating it against the flat surface, turning it into a cake batter-like froth.

when i bought my 19 a year ago, over the 1st month i changed all of the fluids (except radiator - but i've since done that recently) and the differential fluid and transmission were just BLACK! the T-case was still pretty red, but everything else totally needed to be changed. my front diff was seeping just a bit so I had motivation to do that anyway.

Changing my different at 50k interval, with volvoline fluids ...still running oem cover on myb17 F350 with the Dana M275...

Did the same on my ‘18. The color of the fluid said, yes this was needed.
