That little red tab underneath the mass airflow switch that disconnects the switch pulled all the way out on my car and fell part. The mass airflow switch could not be disconnected after trying for 15 mins carefully making sure I didn't inadvertently pull the damn wires out of it. Thankfully, I was able to remove the plastic intake housing vent tube by loosening up the hose clamp closest to the mass airflow switch that tightened around the air intake tube. With that removed, I was able to get the airbox out with keeping that switch connected. Just wanted to chime in in case any of you guys cant get that freaking switch to disconnect! There is also two miniscule Allen screws that you can disconnect to take it off but a didn't have an Allen small enough for that. Why Ford would put that little red release tab for the switch hidden underneath it is a lousy design. Thanks for the video. It helped me a lot to get the airbox out to replace the drivers side bulb which was a pain in the butt.

I just changed out both headlight bulbs on my 2015 Ford Taurus AWD Interceptor with the help of your video. It was so helpful to have your clear visual reference here as I did this in my driveway at night! Oddly enough, the most difficult part of all of this was re-attaching the circular rubber caps after changing out the bulbs, but it got done without cutting the zip ties!!

Thanks for sharing. Showed me everything I needed and knocked mine out in 10 minutes. Quick tip: take a butter knife to gently pry up that small clip on the lamp holder up a bit, eventually you'll loosen it and the original bulb cartridge will slide out easily.

Thank you for this! Just a note, if you have small hands, you can reach in and do the driver's side without removing any parts. I did take the cover off the fuse box, but other than that, I just maneuvered it around until I could access it.

No need to open air filter.. there is enough space behind right housing where you can directly access the light bulbs

Great video. Steps were well outlined. My car had a ground wire on the passengers side that held the rubber cover from coming fully off. I just peeled it back. Took 20 minutes to replace both, though only the driver side was out. Advice, use gloves when placing new bulb in socket. I remember something years ago about hand oils not being good for the lamps. Thanks a bunch!

Also I now know how to disconnect that mass air flow sensor switch (that has that little red tab underneath) where you cant see it (which was a pain to figure out). Thanks for posting. I literally watched 4-5 videos about this and they All took off way too many parts. All I took off was the cover over the fuse box (to give my hands room) and the headlights themselves.. Took me less than 5 minutes to change both.

Everything went great thanks to your video, until I got it mostly back together and noticed I hadn't put the rubber cap back on the entry hole to the headlight. Thanks Abdullah……I watched this video a few times and read most of the comments. Today I felt confident to replace the drivers side headlight on my 2014 Taurus with a Sylvania 9012 bulb. I opted not to take off the air filter but instead took the cap off the fuse box instead. Wore latex gloves as not to contaminate the bulb. It was an extremely tight fit but was able to remove and replace the new one. Hardest part was replacing the rubber cap. Once again thanks❤

One point I ran across installing these headlights. When removing the bulb remember the position of the bulb socket, cause each bulb three tabs, one large one and two small ones so they only can be installed one way

Thanks for video! I can confirm that it is possible to change the driver side bulb without moving the air handler. Although, it was pretty tight and my hands got a bit beat up! It would definitely be less painful to follow the video instructions if you have large hands like me. Also, those bulbs are spendy - $28 a piece for me!

Always check the old bulb before you buy new ones!!!! Every place on the Internet says that the newer Ford Tauruses use a 9012 Bulb. Including this video. So I ordered a set and "patiently" waited a week for them to come in just to find out that my 2019 Ford Taurus uses a 9005 Bulb. I was so mad! Also I find its easy to change the drivers side headlight bulb without removing anything. Only took me a few minutes to change both bulbs.

Well that depends, the bulbs I removed said 9012 on em, so I replaced em with the same one. When you take the old bulb out just read what it says and replace with the same one. Easy peasy.

Ford did not make two different headlight designs for the Taurus. The halogen headlight bulbs fit into the same housing as the HID bulbs, but when you have halogen bulbs, in an elliptical reflector designed for HID bulbs, the result is dim light output. I simply put an HID kit in, from Xenon depot, or your choice of specialty auto lighting. Simple plug and play kit designed for the Taurus headlights. Make sure you get the kit for halogen headlights. The difference in light output is staggering! The beam pattern is correct on high or low beam, just make sure your alignment is correct.

By any chance you know anything about heating an cooling my 2011 Ford Taurus limited blows cold air when the heat is on only on the passenger side an blow heat on the driver side when the air is on I replaced the blend door actuator what could cause this

It’s a glitch used to happen in my 2011 explorer all the time. What I used to do is put the setting to full heat let hot air come out on both sides. Then I would turn the fan off, turn it back on after 10 seconds and put it back to cold or wherever I want and it would work fine.

Also you just have to be sure the temperature is the same on both sides sometimes it’s just that.

I upgraded my brothers mustang to led, using a led conversion kit. If you are comfortable, simply cut a hole in the rubber cover only big enough for the back of the led bulb. That's what I did. Make sure the hole is not bigger because dirt will get in the headlight housing!

The bulb has 2 jobs low and high beam if it's burnt out, good chance high beam won't work. Once you replace the bulb it should start working.

On the driver's side of my 2018 taurus I just removed the fuse box cover and got to mine without removing the air handler. Mine had 9005 bulbs. Odd. I installed Auxito LEDs. Plug and play. Simple and will see how much more brighter they are. 39.99 on Amazon.

The Explorers used 9005 at some point maybe Ford decided to put the same bulbs in the newer Taurus cars. If you can replace the bulb without removing the air box that is much better. Saves you so much more time.
