I had one with this like last week. Confused the hell out of me. Came from a body shop (front left collision damage) and concern was "many dash lights are on". had the FADA code stored, the cut off pigtail heat shrinked and ziptied looked like some sort of body shop nonsense with the wrong part installed. Took a while to figure out it was an updated part since they dont say anything about it in service publications.

All of the 3.0 utility Police units we have, had those seals replaced many times under warranty, ( you had told me about those before ) I'm hoping they will recall them before it becomes customer pay, then I'll be crying like a baby, when I have to do them, Thanks again Boss !!! all your fans are lucky to have You !!!!! p.s. at least I know they have a newer design housing available now.

They did a similar thing with a tsb for f150’s and expeditions. They plugged off the vacuum to the front hubs so everything spins all the time because they were having so many problems with them. If i owned one of them vehicles I would be ticked off. Now it is wearing out more components in the front end spinning everything all the time and also slightly reduced fuel mileage and also more vibration and road noise. It amazes me that the engineers that design these vehicles still have a job, if I screwed up that many things i would be fired. Ford is losing their shirts with all the warranty defects they have to pay for. Seems like every vehicle has design issues. I love fords and that’s all i have ever owned but i like the less complex older ones….

95-96 Explorers had a vacuum actuated axle break. It works fine to this day. Then it came back in 2020 :lol: in this junky design.

Ford should have learned from Jeep. 1991 and prior had a vacuum actuator. Starting in 1992 they went to solid axles due to this sort of problem.

Did Ford change the gear oil in the PTU's to 75w-140 from the 75w-90 due to excess heat soaking the PTU.

Seems like ford's fix for all hub actuators is just lock it in and call it a day.... Crazy.... I'll drive my old junk. Too much to go wrong in these new vehicles. My 11 CVPI will live on haha

Keeping the technicians in the dark, so to speak, is not efficient and hiding a loose piece of paper in the box is just as bad. Ford should have posted a TSB in your daily reports, so you could be prepared and informed when a vehicle came in. Also, the seal is losing it's vitality and not sealing properly. Needs a new seal material, or double-up like some coolant lines.

I need your help man. Please let me know?🤷♂️ I removed both seats from a lincoln town car. The two front bolts driver and passenger were rusted and i tried to loosen them. Four snapped the heads off. I bet i did it wrong. Whats the proper procedure to do next in your honest opinion? I went to the junk yard and bought four bolts for the seats they were only a few bucks. Thanks.

If the bolts are flush with the floor you could try to drill into them, torch them and then try to use an easy out, but if they were that rusted that the heads snapped off it’s pretty unlikely an easy out will work. Most likely best option is to drill them all the way out and then clean up the threads or tap new threads. Really no easy answer, you’re gonna have to drill them. If part of the bolt is sticking out and you can grab them with vice grips or something then torch them super hot and try to twist them out

Good after noon, I'm with sheriff's department in TX. I have been changing the seals of the intermediate shaft. Now I came across the code C0631 (All Data) shows a TSB changing a shaft with no sensor etc; like you mentioned. But the part I got from the TSB 23-2114 is N1MZ-3A329A I got the part, witch is no were near what I need. What is the TSB your using?

I have this same code. Would this cause the engine to turn off once gear selector is moved from park to any other position ( R , N, D Vehicle turns off). My issue is vehicle turns off after switching gear.

Yes sorry my question wasn't worded right. So the actual front differential looks to be on the passenger side of the engine and the driver side output to the drive side CV shaft goes through this actuator. The actuator appears to be bolted to the engine oil pan. So when the said oring leaks is that gear oil from the front differential or did for combine and utilizes engine oil in the front differential? Guessing not for a number of reasons but hey it is Ford and they've done worse 😅. Enjoy watching your videos! Keep up the hard work.

I don't know that I would assume that you would continue to leave it as it is until you get one with the updated Hub actuator or until they release a service message saying to program it out

Boss, got a quick question for ya. I've got a 2020 Interceptor that's throwing a C0631, which is "Hub Actuator Stuck Off". Do you have a TSB on that issue? Or could you tell me more about the 30mph - coasting? Thanks!

So you got to go through the pinpoint test P It has you check a bunch of stuff and then if the pinpoint test doesn't check out like it's supposed to but everything else looks good at the end it says install a new actuator and when you pull the actuator out of the box you'll see there's instructions inside that make you do the delete and then you have to reprogram the all wheel drive module I can't go into it anymore than that to be honest with you I'm busy at work right now but that should give you enough to go find a pinpoint test and actually follow it because to me it looks like you need to put a new all wheel drive actuator in there and program the all-wheel drive module and the new one shouldn't have a connector on it should be deleted

@@FordBossMe The closest TSB I've found was 20-2071, but doesn't include the C0631-7F Code, just C0633. There are no driveable issues with the car, info pops up on the dash with a Stabilitrac, Hill Assist, and the Wrench and Traction Control Icon.

Anytime the transfer case needs to kick in the front wheels they will both spin yes but I don't believe it's going to be all the time
