Where is your shop?

It would be easier to tap that ball joint out after you undo the strut. Also those bushes should be torqued with the wheels on the ground to prevent premature failure.

hi, definitely better to be tightened in position they are usually positioned in. choice is yours which way is easier for you. cheers

Yes Felix is right, car needs to be at ride height prior to final torque of nuts and bolts

Thanks for that. cheers

Thank you for that ... im about to do mine today. Must the alignment be done after this job ?
@YepThatsIt6 жыл бұрын
hi, if you move or replace the tie-rod ends then yes. but if you mark them and return exactly where they were then " might " be ok. there is some movement on the mounting bolts where rack is bolted to chassis as well so these things will always affect the alignment a bit. cheers

@petercaldwell86743 жыл бұрын
@@YepThatsIt l have sockets it just saved time, if l knew I needed a couple of the bigger sizes l would have got them prior to starting the work. Cheers anyway thanks Peter

If you can't work that out you shouldn't be working on a vehicle that has a high degree of safety risk for others on the road. If you're simply being a smart ass be grateful someone is giving away their expertise to you for free.
@petercaldwell86742 жыл бұрын
@@marklowe7431 l know who the smartarse is, I've done heaps of work on cars in my 65 yes and knowing before starting a job what size sockets etc is extremely helpful in case needed before starting. Crawl back under ur rock we don't all have your obvious expertise and unlimited access to tools, I've unfortunately met wankers like you before that think their shit doesn't stink and no matter what the topic are expert.🤯

They use a lot of 18mm on these. So socket and ring spanner. The other sizes are 19, 21 and 15mm. Who uses 15mm & 18mm? Yeah Ford Aust.
