All the hassle and mess of a timing chain, and all the (lack of) durability of a timing belt, plus tiny pieces of rubber all throughout my oil? Where can I get one of these!!

Money making scheme from manufacturers in my eyes knowing full well they will sell more belts than chains, plus I feel sorry for people who do not have my skills and have to pay over a £1000 to have it replaced the job in its self isnt that hard just removing alot of componants out the way to get to the belt but still garages charge 8 hrs labour, massive con to just move a few pipes out the way and take out airbox, the price should solely be on removal of engine cover and belt change 👍

I keep seeing that there's big thing with making sure the timing markings are aligned after belt has been replaced,I'm thinking that this only needs to be checked if belt has slipped or snapped while vehicle was being driven or is there another reason for this, because if not of the gears have been disturbed then the timing is still correct regardless of the markers lining up?

You are correct it would only need to be checked in that way if something had been removed replaced or broken I just used three pins to time up and then change the belt
